New To The DMV - Need Upscale Luxury Carwash
Posted by: BMW Man ()
Date: March 28, 2015 07:45AM

I am new to the DMV, and I need to find a quality carwash that can handle the needs of my performance BMW. The staff must know what to clean, and how to do it. BMWs require a through undercarriage cleaning after the winter months. I also want a good double hand carnauba wax, and a stiff bristle carpet vacuum. Looking to have my BMW cleaned in the next week.

Sunday hours a plus-

You're new to the "DMV", OP? No kidding...

So, why should the "Department of Motor Vehicles" have a carwash?

There isn't many options for a quality wash around here. You are better off doing it your self, I wash my own cars with my better results.

I did wash my cars myself when I was in high school, but college and career changed all of that years ago. My time is such that it cannot be spent washing cars.

I am not sure about the motor vehicles department referral.

Obvious troll is obvious.

"performance BMW"

"hand carnauba wax"

"stiff bristle carpet vacuum"

Mentions BMW 4 times.

4/10 OP, need to be a little more subtle with your trolling.

Within a mile or so of the Franconia DMV there are 2 car washes on Van Dorn St. 6700 S Van Dorn St and 420 S Van Dorn St. Both easy access from the DMV.

The hand wash on Route 7 by Golfdom is the only place I take my car to get washed if I don't do it myself.

Driving all the way to Alexandria just for a mediocre carwash, really?

I would definitely go with what Mazdaspeed suggested the wash in Tysons if you really are too lazy to wash your own cars.

What does Golfdom have to do with carwashes? You make no sense some times.

DMV is Delware Maryland Virgina.

What are you so busy you cannot wash a car?

you have no business mind

ie, surgeons would like to wash their bwm and often don't have time

and keeping the car washed is a business: it can make or break a sale

and laughing at local car dealers that hire illegals and are "down for" using taxes to harass whites

i'm not falling for that bandwagon

and i wouldn't take that crap unless i already had something more important to do

Not too many from FFU will want to spend the time or money with these guys as most of the clowns around here drive Civics, Prius', Kia's or just plain beaters.

I had a feeling that there is a huge Daewoo Lanos following here. All riding around in endless circles wearing rubber underwear to prevent leakage.

the best way to ruin something is to clean it improperly

wash at least every two weeks to insure you get acids (ie, bird and tree resin) off, or it will eat into the paint and will be permanent

NEVER rub dirt into the paint. that's what destroys it.

1) if your paint is fucked up dont bother - get it painted

2) soak in water for 10 min, water is an acid, the wait loosens the dirt

3) water is sudsy enough it feels slippery

3) use wool mit - not a sponge. NEVER push mit, soft as it is, into paint. wipe across frequently. re-wash or use #**# cleaner (buy a book) if things on paint dont free after 2 washes.

4) rinse well, maybe shammy or use a flipper, or you'll see soap spots but that is no big deal

it's easy to do right. it's also easy to damage a car washing it.

Delmarva is Delaware, Maryland, Virginia. Mid-Atlantic.

The DMV is the Department of Motor Vehicles.

D.C,. and the Virgina and Maryland suburbs around it, are the Washington Metropolitan Area.

To refer to Washington Metropolitan Area as the DMV is absurd. Many parts of Pennsylvania are closer to D.C. than parts or Virginia and Maryland. This DMV crap, like a turd, started floating just a few years back.

Doucehbags on FFXU call it the DMV, and recently the term has been catching on.

No. DMV stands for Department of Motor Vehicles. This is a trademarked name and is protected by Virginia state code.

Violations of this trademark are punishable by fines and or jail time. Please cease and desist use of this term for any purposes other than to refer to the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.

Thank you.
