Northern Virginia Mother and Daughter Killed in France Plane Crash

Nokesville resident Yvonne Selke and her daughter, Emily, are among the 144 passengers presumed dead in a Tuesday plane crash in the southern French Alps.
The two were on board the Germanwings aircraft that crashed on its way from Barcelona to Dusseldorf, Germany, her husband Raymond Selke confirmed Wednesday.
“Our entire family is deeply saddened by the losses of Yvonne and Emily Selke. Two wonderful, caring, amazing people who meant so much to so many. At this difficult time we respectfully ask for privacy and your prayers," the family said in a statement released Wednesday afternoon.
Yvonne Selke worked for the consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., in Washington for nearly 23 years.
