Medicaid will be expanded in Virginia
Posted by: reckless intransigence ()

Medicaid will be expanded in Virginia. How many of our own billions of federal tax dollars Republicans waste to play meaningless national politics will be a total loss for the state.

They're costing us billions of dollars per year to play national politics against Obama who is on his way out. Worthless Richmond goober Republicans no one knows anything about are costing us billions a year playing national politics while other Republican states where the first to expamd medicaid.

Stop the program if that happens you dumb dipshit goober idiot. The state has been tweaking Medicaid and clinic services in this state since forever without any problem at all.

Also, there zero historical evidence the federal government doesn't fulfill its liability.

So your basing your assertion on something that's never happened in the history of this country. The federal government not fulfilling its liability as it relates to Medicaid and the state government of Virginia not having the political will to roll back Medicaid availability in the state.

Both of those assertions you are basing sending away billions of our own tax dollars to covering the Medicaid recipients of others states, including Republican states, are assertions based on zero historical fact and non existent future possibility.

Meanwhile, our rural hospitals go bankrupt and everyone's premiums still get affected by the uninsured and the poor die in Virginia.

It's not all bad, you're still subsidizing the Medicaid costs of the poor in other states. You're just killing the poor and your hospitals in your own state.

Hospitals in states that expanded Medicaid to their poorest residents faced about $5 billion less in unpaid bills last year — about twice the reduction as those that did not expand this health care coverage, according to a new federal report.

The Department of Health and Human Services released the report at a Virginia event marking the fifth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act. The ACA expanded Medicaid, but a Supreme Court decision gave states the option of offering Medicaid to all of their citizens or not, and 22 states have not done so.

States that didn't expand Medicaid saw a $2.4 billion decline in "uncompensated care" costs. Non-profit hospitals, which make up the vast majority of hospitals, are required to treat everyone who shows up in their emergency rooms, regardless of ability to pay. People who don't have insurance or who can't afford their deductibles or co-payments make up these uncompensated costs.

Hospitals provided more than $50 billion in uncompensated care in 2013, an amount that is only partly offset by the government.

In addition to the impact on local, state and federal budgets, and doctors and hospitals, HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell noted, uncompensated care is covered by higher premiums for employer-provided insurance policies.

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat who has pushed for Medicaid expansion in his state, says he expects Medicaid expansion to have a better chance after the 2016 elections than it did after his election in 2014 when he was told it had "zero chance of passing."

In 2016, states would have to pick up 10% of the cost of expansion, but McAuliffe says he thinks a coalition of state hospitals will pick up the additional cost, as hospitals proposed to do in Tennessee before that plan was blocked by the Legislature.

2.4 billion dollars is the tab you're currently putting on hospitals that they are passing on to people with paid for insurance policies. Through the raising of their premiums of course.

So a handful of dumb ass retarded goobers in Richmond could send our own money away to play national politics against a president gone in less than two years.

Its becoming more insane with every passing day and the state is losing more and more as the clock ticks.

Fix Obamacare first? Or throw more money at Medicaid. Tough choice.

Obamacare Reality:

2014 premiums were 24.4% higher than they would have been without Obamacare.

Drug costs have skyrocketed.

The majority of health plans on the exchanges have shifted costs for expensive medications onto patients.

In 2015, more than 40% of all “silver” exchange plans — the most commonly purchased — are charging patients 30% or more of the total cost of their specialty drugs. Up from 27% of silver plans in 2014.

Less competition: insurers selling to individual consumers in the exchanges this year is 21.5% less than the number on the market in 2013 — the year before the law took effect.

In 2013, 1,232 carriers offered insurance coverage in the individual market. By 2015, that number shrunk to 310.

Exchange insurance plans refuse to partner with at least 30% of the area’s hospitals. Other plans exclude more than 70%.

More than 60% of doctors plan to retire earlier than anticipated — by 2016 or sooner.

89% of the Americans who signed up for Obamacare when the exchanges opened in 2013 already had insurance.

10-year cost will reach $1.2 trillion.

They fought those programs but most recipients of those programs vote Republican. Kind of like Rafael Cruz enrolling in subsidized Obama Care.

Virginia will not expand Medicaid. Even some Democrats will vote against it.

Trying to say money not spent is money lost is just idiotic.

Like those Democrats who keep pushing for Medicaid expansion.

Meanwhile, millions of Medicaid patients have been converted to Obamacare... more expensive, less benefits.
