A wintry mix of rain and snow is most likely in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Wilmington, Delaware, and Trenton, New Jersey. The storm is likely to impact travel in this area, including the potential for flight delays due to poor visibility and deicing operations. Motorists and pedestrians should be prepared for delays on Friday.

A pocket of moderate snowfall, on the order of 3-6 inches is possible in parts of northern Virginia, northeastern West Virginia, western Maryland and south-central Pennsylvania, where several inches can accumulate. The snow will also begin late Thursday night to early Friday morning in much of this zone, when roads are at their lowest temperature.

We just missed it. The storm path takes a long, hard shape across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast but the DC area is just under it.

Still, residents are urged to take precautions as the colored map indicates there may be a lot of irritation and chafing.

Looks like the forcast has now shifted south again. Areas of Fairfax county could get as much as 5 inches.

It's going to be a mess in the morning.

To anyone who believes were going to get more than 1" on the ground in non-elevated areas around DC metro tomorrow, well, I have some swamp land in Palm Springs to sell you.

Capital Weathergang just increased their totals:

We’ve increased the most likely snow accumulation in the immediate metro area to a coating to 4 inches, from a coating to 1 inch, as we see the potential for several hours of steady snow. We’re also increasing amounts to 1 to 4 inches (from 1 to 3 inches) in our colder areas to the north and west (Fairfax county, northern Montgomery and Loudoun County.)
