Does Fairfax allow full use of my driveway, including the bottom part where I might block the sidewalk?

In most cases, the sidewalk and apron belong to the State/County, not the homeowner.

You cannot park on a sidewalk. From Fairfax County Code:

Section 82-5-1. Parking prohibited in Specified Places.

(a)

No person shall park a vehicle, except when necessary to avoid a conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic-control device, in any of the following places:

(1)

On a sidewalk;

No, as you said, it's considered part of the sidewalk which you would be blocking. FCPD would enforce:

If you do it you will be fined by my HOA, and I am on the board. I take down the addresses and tag numbers of people that do it, and the info is given to the Fairfax County Police before you get a chance to move your car. You will be issued a ticket, and if possible towed away to clear the sidewalk.

All of the information with pictures will be submitted to my HOA, and I am on the board to levy fines payable to my HOA.

I do the same with snow removal. Those who do not clear the walkways in front of their home will be fine by my HOA, of which I am a board member.

A guy does this on one of my jogging routes where there is very busy street (Wakefield Chapel). I run on the sidewalk because obviously that is the place for people esp. with a lot of crazy traffic. I have a choice to either run around into his driveway and onto his front yard or into traffic. I feel for him as he has a crappy little driveway and parking on that street is no picnic.

If I were the angry type I guess he might have to worry about getting keyed. Why you parking on the walk bro?

Can't decide if you're a huge asshole or just a troll. I'm gonna guess both.

Good luck with that. They onlyissue a ticket if they witness the infraction or on a majistrate's approval. With current police manpower there are probably only a few officers in each pricinct available. If they actually send someone to investigate the car parked on the sidewalk, that is one less officer available to be dealing with traffic infractions.

No HOA, no sidewalks, boat in driveway, we snowblow 8 driveways for the neighbors, paint our house any color we want, take our trash to the curb whenever we want, bring the cans up whenever we want, have a hot tub out back without a fence, 1.1 acre lot. No fascists for us.

You are only permitted to place your garbage cans and recycling bins at the curb no more than 24 hours before pickup.
