"Rahul Gupta, who initially confessed to killing a Georgetown law student before claiming that his girlfriend did it, was convicted of first-degree murder by a Montgomery County jury Monday after less than five hours of deliberations.

Gupta, 25, who sat between his two attorneys, showed no immediate reaction when the verdict was announced. Moments later, he leaned his head into his left hand. He faces a possible lifetime in prison; his sentencing hearing was set for April 16."

I just read the article. They were out with friends, the three of them came home and Waugh ends up dead. The girlfriend, Gould, says she was blackout drunk, however her hair ended up on the knife and Waugh's hand.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Who knows what's really going on, whenever there is a woman involved people tend to rule her out immediately, despite the fact that many times they are more conniving and crazy than men.

Are you kidding? There is evidence everywhere... and he confessed. What would be her motive to kill the guy? Did she walk into the room and catch them buggering each other? And what guy takes the rap for a batshit crazy girl who just went absolutely insane with a knife? No one. The only thing that would be going through his mind at that point is: "this bitch is crazy, maybe I'm next!" I don't care how "in love" he says he was (which, in emails, it is clear that he was not).
