Seeing as how the US has managed to rip off it's people to the point of recession about to turn depression, deceived the nation into thinking that Obama was a real candidate here to change things (Bush II?), endebted the country past any sort of ability to repay and is now trying to turn Canada, Mexico and the USA into some sort of union, I would say the US doesn't exactly have much room to talk. Swine flu is one thing. Invading someone's country and killing it's children for personal financial/power freak gratification, is another. God bless American's, we're gonna need it.

Since you already show signs of mad cow, what's one more?

Go ahead start blowing out your oralfixs and disappear. you won't

be missed. This is not a metaphor and you obviously don't know one

when you see it. I recognize a fat pig when I see it and I'm talking to

one right now, painted or not, you are a PIG.

This bacteria hangs around in the air for up to 2 hours, don't to mention everything they come in contact with...here's hoping it's Furfur.

This just demonstrates how totally ignorant Furfur happens to be. Furfur do you have mad cow, because you sound like it. One sicko here and unstable too to wish for such a desease.

If you need to lose weight, which apparently you do stop cramming so much food in your fat ugly pie-hole. Which oralfice is bigger? I hear you produce songs with the rythm of your farts at night. Have you spent time in the pokie?

But what do you expect from a poster with a demonic name...Furfur. This says alot about where your head is at.

By the way...stop sending me sick messages, and go back to hell, where you apparently came from. It must be pretty miserable being you.

A few facts:
So far just over 1,000 have been diagnosed in Mexico City, with an 8 percent death rate.

The flu was brought here by some private school kids who were vacationing in Mexico during Spring Break. Not Mexicans, Americans VISITING Mexico brought this virus back.

The strain of the virus they brought back is apparently the less-serious type, since there have been no deaths attributed to this strain yet. If you are going to get a virus, this is the strain you want, all the immunity, less of the serious side-affects.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Two-thirds of the roughly 1,300 people in Mexico suspected of being infected with a fatal new strain of swine flu have been given a clean bill of health and sent home from the hospital, President Felipe Calderon said on Sunday.

Calderon said more than 900 people had been declared healthy and nearly 400 others with flu-like symptoms were in hospitals being checked.

It's only a matter of time that it shows up around here. This virus seems particularly easy to transmit (case in point all the myriad of people who've just visited for a bit then come back have fallen ill). The key difference and it's a big one (at least so far) is that the swine flu in Mexico is fairly virulent (~7-12% death rate) whilst in the US and other countries it's fairly benign. Why the variance is a big question many scientists are asking.

With a daily non-stop flight from Mexico City to Dulles...it's only a matter of time before we start to see cases pop up here also.

I just hope the variance in virulence remains otherwise it could start to look particularly bad the world over.

Oh, great.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090427/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/lt_swine_flu_mexico

"Cordova also suggested an earlier timeline for documented swine flu cases inside Mexico. The first death confirmed by the government involved a woman who succumbed from swine flu on April 13 in southern Oaxaca state. But Cordova said tests now show that a 4-year-old boy contracted the disease at least two weeks earlier in neighboring Veracruz state, where a community has been protesting pollution from a large pig farm.

The farm is run by Granjas Carroll de Mexico, a joint venture 50 percent owned by Virginia-based Smithfield Foods, Inc. Spokeswoman Keira Ullrich said the company has found no clinical signs or symptoms of the presence of swine influenza in its swine herd or its employees working at its joint ventures anywhere in Mexico.

But local residents are convinced they were sickened by air and water contamination from pig waste."

A Virus is produced from a form of bacteria.

Now there's a movement to change the name from swine flu to

something prettier. This is so ignorant, just call it what it is, forget

about political correctness. How about Mexican flu? It seems people are

worried more about a backlash then the flu itself, this is so anal.

Remember the Spinach E-Coli break out in California a few years ago? It was caused by the little piggies romping in the Spinach fields and leaving little presents behind.

This evening on the news the cameras were on the El Paso / Juarez-El Paso border crossing where hundreds of people were waiting in line (on the Mexican side) to cross through to their jobs in the US.

What I am hearing - and I don't know if this is fact or fear mongering - an infected person can spread the virus a day or two before the symptoms are noticable.

Also, several schools in El Paso have been closed and are being cleaned from top to bottom. Want to guess who is doing the scrubbing?

Mexico has a bunch of dark-skinned indígenas and mestizos, which are remnants of the native people ("indians") who were there before the conquistadores showed up and infected everyone with smallpox.

That's funny because being called an Indian is an insult in Mexico. Most Mexicans like to think themselves of decedents of Spanish blood except for the ones that are all gung ho on being Aztec. I have a friend is first generation Mexican and his brother is lighter skinned than he is so whenever he and his brother get in fights his brother calls him an indian and he gets all pissed off.

BTW the US never oppressed Mexico, it was the Spanish looking for the seven lost cities of gold that killed off most of South America and gave you your Catholicism and Spanish. Strangely enough most were killed by smallpox the Spanish brought with them.

Mayans are one of several native groups in Mexico, and the Incans are from the andes of south america.... Which is in an entirely different continent than mexico.

Not racist and I was just testing you with Incas. I am part Indian. I don't care for illegals because they disrespect our laws, land and people. They just thumb their nose at us, while being treated better then Native Americans and in some cases our citizens. That's wrong. If you'll notice they are now the only ones working in fast food joints, grocery stores and restaurants. In this current atmosphere our citizens should have those jobs instead, what's up with this shit? We are being taken over.

Careful what you wish for. My grandmother was Algonquin and paid dearly. She married a "white man," moved off the reservation, cut all ties with her family, and never looked back. But secrets die hard and my mother went through life being called a "half-breed."

In our home, we were of Canadian and Scandinavian descent. Any mention of our Native American ancestory was not to be discussed. This was one of the very few rules in our home that was not upen for negotiation.

Getting back on track of the topic, NBC news just reported that one of the persons in Mexico confirmed infected with the virus was a cenus taker who went from door to door gathering information.

Initially we were told the virus can live on inanimate objects for two hours. Now we are being told up to 72 hours, with the greatest risk during the first few hours.

Even though the number of confirmed infected in the US has doubled during the past two days, only a few have been hospitalized. So far there have been no reported cases in the DC Metro area.

As reported numerous times, the most effective way to prevent the spread is regular hand washing or use of a hand sanitizer.

Take care

Not even close. Native Americans were born here, took care of themselves and didn't ask for anything.

Illegal aliens knowing crossed the boarder without proper papers, stole identities so they could take American jobs, and then used those stolen identities to rob our coffers dry.

Speaking of Hispanics, I did get a chance to try the Jalepeno Grill in Fairfax the other day.

Cute, quaint lil place--you get to watch them make your tortillas fresh to order right in front of you.

Tasty tacos, too...although not all that robust. You could probably eat 6 of em, ffs.

Try the steak ones...the chicken and beef are sitting in a steam table thingy--but they made the steak as I waited.

Cute waitress that doesnt speak a LICK of English.

Owner is a gregarious fella--used to cut meat for Giant before retiring and opening up this joint.

I'll go back, probably for a breakfast burrito--real fresh chorizo, according to the owner.

Now carry on.

Queen Bee...according to me. You lily white folks talk out of both sides of your mouth, with fork tongue, especially you regular crazies here.

By the way we have a problem with bees which will be a big problem for us all soon. Frogs are also disappearing and mutating. It's already to late to fix our planet and our quality of life will now be drasticly altered. Our children and theirs will not know our world as we have for centuries...sad!

Look for another civil war here amoungest the haves and have nots. That's what the govt is preparing for with preparing for civil unrest.

Most of the cases in the U.S. are coming from American citizens who visited Mexico, not from illegal immigrants.

This is encouraging...

A member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has dismissed claims that more than 150 people have died from swine flu, saying it has officially recorded only seven deaths around the world.

Vivienne Allan, from WHO's patient safety program, said the body had confirmed that worldwide there had been just seven deaths - all in Mexico - and 79 confirmed cases of the disease.

The child was a Mexican national whose parents brought him into Texas and shortly thereafter showed signs of flu symptoms.

Mexico has been forthcoming with the number of deaths related to the flu. Don't you think it's odd that Mexico would exaggerate these numbers?

Pandemics tend to create panics. Germany has already restricted all flights from and/or through Mexico.

A flight originating from Mexicao, that landed at Dulles was temporarily quarantined on the tarmac because two men were ill. It turned out they were suffering from the ill-effects of a hang over.

It sounds like WHO is trying to diminish the panic by downplaying the number of deaths associated with with the flu vs actual deaths during the same time frame.

Look at Mexico's infrastructure. I don't believe Mexico is intentionally exaggerating the number of cases. I think they don't have the qualified personnel on the ground to adequately assess the situation.

I think WHO is trying to get a handle on what is happening. Considering the fact that the mortality rate has been so low in U.S. cases, it makes sense that the numbers coming out of Mexico are simply inaccurate.

In the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic, about 28% of Americans got the flu. Of those, 2.5% died.

In a normal year, regular flu kills around 20,000 Americans.

So far, one person in the US has died of swine flu.

Why am I supposed to be scared?

That too has been addressed. HHS confirmed that even though the Flu shots we receive here in the US are not for this particular strain, they do enhance the immune to system to better deal with this flu.

The Mexican government does not offer flu shots for its people.

More likely it's simply a case of Americans being healthier than Mexican.

yeah, it's stupid when people start bashing illegal aliens for this because it's showing up in places like the UK and Germany. illegal aliens are more likely to be carrying TB with them over the boarder.

No US citizens have died from the Swine flu - the child that died was brought into Texas from Mexico "to visit family" and showed symptoms shortly after arriving.

This is an excellent example as to why keeping our southern border open leaves Americans susceptible to infection.

Mexico recognizes the seriousness and has closed schools to preven the spread of infection. That should be sufficient justification to close the border as well until Mexico gets a handle on things.

No, I'm saying they were infected in Mexico and there are still illegal crossings going on as I type this post.

As the virus spreads throughout Mexico, even more people will be crossing to the US side of the border for work and/or health care.

It's not like its that difficult to get across the boarder these days.

So Mexicans crossing the border are responsible for the infections in Europe?

No, but they will be rushing over the border to get medical care which will precipitate a faster spread.

You're right, I should start panicking immediately. It's only a matter of time until an army of plague Mexicans storms our borders and unleashes the apocalypse.

Dumbass. Perfectly healthy Mexicans die all the time trying to cross the border. Do you really think a bunch of sick Mexicans would stand a better chance?
