Two men were charged Monday related to their alleged contact with minors following an investigation by the Christiansburg Police Department.
Devin Auguste Leah Gavion, 18, of Clifton, is charged with one count of carnally knowing without the use of force a child of the age of 14 years, a Class 4 felony. He is also charged with one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a Class 1 misdemeanor. Gavion is currently being held at the Western Virginia Regional Jail.
Shai Avian McKenzie, 19, of Blacksburg, is charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. McKenzie was processed at the Montgomery Regional Jail and has been released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
On February 27, investigators with the Christiansburg Police Department executed a search warrant for DNA from McKenzie. Virginia Tech Police Department investigators executed a search warrant for DNA from Gavion. DNA results are pending.
The charges against Gavion and McKenzie stem from an alleged incident that took place in Christiansburg on or about February 15, 2015.
