Fairfax, VA - In 2002, as a potential candidate for the Board of Supervisors, John Foust opposed a potential Supervisor salary increase. The Connection newspaper quoted him as saying "I think the supervisors earn more than that, but as a matter of public policy, I am not sure they should be paid more than that . . . . There should be a sacrifice that comes with public service." Yesterday, Supervisor Foust cast the deciding vote to increase Supervisors' salaries by $20,000 a year.

The 6-4 vote comes at a time when Fairfax County is facing a projected revenue gap of $90 million and all warnings point to reduced funds for every County program and initiative. Supervisor Pat Herrity has consistently voiced his opposition to the raise, "I could not vote to fund a raise at a time when our County Executive says we cannot afford to fund all of our priorities and our residents don't have the option to simply increase their pay to fund the Board's salary and benefit increases."

Why, then, has Supervisor Foust decided this is a good time to raise his salary? Maybe it's because it's not his money. As a member of the Board, Foust never says "no" to an opportunity to raise taxes. During his time on the Board, he has repeatedly shown his disregard for the interests of taxpayers by supporting or voting for increases in meals taxes, property taxes, and medical device taxes - to name a few. Fairfax County residents have seen a 14% tax increase over the last 3 years thanks to policies Foust has supported. Now he is putting himself ahead of the taxpayers by voting to increase his salary.

Supervisor Foust wouldn't recognize the John Foust from 2002. What happened to the "sacrifice that comes with public service," Mr. Foust?

Fortunately, this November we can replace John Foust. On November 3, 2015, the voters of Dranesville District can elect someone who will walk the walk when it comes to service over self, and put an end to the ever-increasing burdens being put on Fairfax County taxpayers.

Democrat Supervisors want more free money for themselves. Republicans do not. Surprised?

This about hhaving their cake and eating it, too. Republicans get to vote No, knowing full well that they will get the same raise. (How many of them ever give back the raise? Precious few.) Remember how Ron Paul would get earmarks for his district in legislation but then vote against the legislation when it was clear it would pass? That way he could rail against pork while providing it for his district.

John Foust and his Pedofag mustache got beaten by like 12 or 15 points, even with a couple of Libertarians and a Tea Party guy in the race.

Not true. But the only way to know for sure is to replace two Democrats with Republicans on the Board of Supervisors. Replacing Foust seems like a good start since he votes against his constituents often.

Actually, this vote for a raise for themselves was not certain. Sure you have people like Sharon Bulova, whose only job is politics, and has somehow gotten rich during her time on the board. But others have real jobs too and still get the Supervisor job done... with great paid and volunteer staffs.

* mediated before dragged to court (court only after refused mediateion)

* judge and accuser (ususally a gov worker accuses) cannot accuse by "code label". an accusation must state a proven act done that someone was injured by

* innocent until proven guilty

* the penalty must fit the crime. in VA (commonwealth) the penalty is owed, MUST, be fair with respect to penalties and rewards in previous cases (IE, jail time or, if severe enough, death penalty: to gov workers who use courts for financial gain)

* the ruling should look forward to the future , not to the past

* litigants can ask the judge for an explition of a suspicious ruling , leave a partiing comment in the legal file


the great delays, of "computerizeing courts", having a central courthouse people can't walk to (need a license), which has high parking fee (need money to go to court)

all of that came in with gov's huge expendature with Microsoft who promised that "computers will make law more profitable for gov"

there is no such thing as simply "voting to have more pay" especially as he already gets many times minimum wage and has used his position to get his family gov jobs
