I Love It! Instead of getting paid by the load, I get paid by the hour. Starting at 3:00pm today until 11:00pm tomorrow I will get paid $75 per hour. Most of that time will be spent siting at Springfield Plaza waiting for the snow to start. There will be at least 5 of us parked there and we will take turns sleeping until the snow starts falling. With this storm, I will have made over $12,000 thanks to the snow this winter. Thanks VDOT.
BTW, we can not pre-treat the roads for this storm because the rain will just wash it away. So it will be sometime Friday, before most side streets get plowed. So the kiddies will have a 4 day weekend, coz FCPS schools are closed tomorrow.

There are a lot of employees in many different professions whose pay is based upon on specialized knowledge the position requires as wekk as the risk and liability it entails.

If not for us guys at VDOT you fuckers would have no roads to drive on. We have saved thousands of lives with our snow removal and salt-sand operations. Now pay your fucking taxes on time and get an easy pass to pay for the nice toll lanes that we built for you.
Any of you fucking electric car owners out there need to keep track of your mileage and send in the highway taxes since you are not paying the highway taxes at the gas pump.
And quit bitching about road and lane closures. We are in charge of the roads and we will close them anytime we want,.

i don't see anything wrong with that as an additional income source. it's damned easy work -- if that guy is honest about clearing 12k this year, you're going to have your equipment paid for in 2 years, and hell if you're smart you can deduct it as a business expense and then claim depreciation on top.
plus it gets you out of the house when the kids are home from school.
