I see the lonely housewives, welfare losers and Stay at home dads have nothing better to do but act an asshole and have fake outrage about Boosterthon. You guys are a bunch of dumb pieces of shit and need help.

According to Trapp's twitter feed, he's down there with a bunch of the Booster brothers taking pictures of athletes. So relevant to US school fundraising.

So I would guess that this comes from Chris "the clown" Carneal himself, or some other deluded person.

Boostertoon is going to be a divisive issue in the upcoming elections. Ryan McElveen's political elevator may be stopping very soon, and Ted Velkoff may have to go and get a real job.

Why won't FCPS comment on the contract it has with Boosterthon? First they tried hiding behind the fact that the Boosterthon contracts were with the PTOs/PTAs, but they can't use that excuse now.

If Karen Garza wants more money, she has to be transparent. That means not just Boosterthon, but all employee travel and ridiculous things like this Buck Institute for Education.

It blows my mind that FCPS does not check the backgrounds of consultants and vendors. I've looked at the Booster website, there is no information about the people in the company. All it gives you is some soccer mom out in Loudoun who liked it.

For the amount of money they charge I want to see resumes, degrees, and why their "lessons" exceed those the county already offers. And, the fun run does not sound like that much exercise.

I've also got to think some of these "methods consultants" they have are recycled used car salesmen.

It's just wrong. Plain wrong. Boosterthon won't make it here and shouldn't have ever been given the go ahead either. The investigation will surely turn up some messiness. PTA president's headed to Atlanta and then getting hired on at that same school? Money going to Boosterthon without the parents knowing how much up front? Others having access to students without background checks required by everyone else who has contact with students? Then teachers kept out of the loop of info for planning purposes? A total train wreck. Not my kid. Not my school.

Keene Mill ES has an FCPS contract with Boosterthon. I have asked for the backgrounds of the people who come to the classrooms AND advance copies of the lesson materials.

No answer.

I've asked for a copy of the opt-out procedure. I made it clear I don't want my kid exposed to this crap.

No answer.

So if they bring Booster I will take the kid out for the whole 9 days. I will hire a tutor at my own expense and sue the principal for the cost. Let her explain it t a judge. Even if I lose it will be good exposure for this abuse and fraud.

How is harassing kids and giving them cheap, crap toys helping them? Oh and there's so much physical fitness, one lousy run around their track that is probably spewing carcinogens.

The founder of Boosterthon, Chris Carneal, was trained as a church planter. His right hand man, Brett Trapp, spent five years getting a degree, probably because he was fixated on the ATO fraternity. Come to think of it he still is.

This organization scams our schools.

Angela Atwater, Ed.D., in a letter posted here, has said that the Boosterthon matter is closed.

Why doesn't Chris Carneal go and plant churches, and leave the kids and schools alone? It doesn't look like he ever tried. Scamming schools was just too easy, I guess, and too tempting.

It isn't clear how "Christian" Brett Trapp is. It is known that he's always up for beer, a toga party, or a chorus of "Louie Louie" and beyond that, not sure.

A failed televangelist and a Bluto Blutarsky wannabe? Teaching OUR kids? Not a good idea. Even Karen Garza will see that eventually.

He's a fool on the Board of Education. He's awful followed by Moon. I hear this man is reasonable but seeing him in action and watching what he does? He's an elitist and shows up at schools where the gifted children attend. Traditional children? Low functioning? Does he know they are in the county? When the vote came up to kill the county's support of the AF and IB tests to save $5 million, he suggested poor children couldn't pay? Really? How about draw some data first and see because my sources say many children play and sleep during this test. Why are we paying for it then? I say keep Elizabeth Schultz and maybe one other, the rest have to go!

Agree that Ryan McElveen needs to go.

Tammy Kaufax is so dumb she's dangerous. She is another monkey with a hand grenade. It is a wonder she's run unopposed for so long. Now the power has gone to her head. Time for her to go.

Ilryong Moon has to go. It is not clear what he's ever done, and it is clear he's waiting for the right timing to use the Korean vote to leap into higher office. We need to get him off the school board so that this never happens.

Ted Velkoff. OK, it is sad he never got to follow his dream of a life in music, but, come on, the University of Indiana? Try Eastman or Juilliard. He wants to give the schools the power to tax, that can't happen.

And, not one of them seems to see what a train wreck Boosterthon is.

The School Board debates will be interesting.

It's so easy to draw out the real reason for the anti-boosterthon campaign. Like shooting fish in a barrel. This sums up the real reason for the campaign against boosterthon. All the other arguments are just fluff. Cover. Phoney.

Uh, you haven't noticed that every time there is any mention of the word "Christian" it sends the anti-boosterthon folks into a spittle-flying rage? That is the real reason.

They don't believe that anyone with any "Christian" affiliations should be allowed to participate in public life or public events. Because even if their operations are run in a completely neutral fashion the mere existence of any "Christian" affiliation is a tacit endorsement of conservative sectarian right-wing religious fanaticism. In other words, they are as nuts as the nuts they hate.

I don't like what I've read about Chris Carnel. He spews Evangelical drivel, he'd be right at home at Liberty or Regent University. He, and this shady company, make Christians look bad.

Bret Trapp? A fifth year senior? A fraternity organizer? I have to agree, I don't want this man near my kids.

Is it an FCPS requirement that all teachers have completed all their undergrad degrees in four years? My nephew is a high school history teacher - a very good one. He took a 4 year break between his sophomore and junior years. I guess he should be fired.

Looking at Trapp's LinkedIn, nothing suggests he had anything come up that would have necessitated the extra year. Sorry, Brett Trapp NEEDED five years because of all the time he spent on fraternity activities.

A bachelor's degree alone does not qualify you to teach at FCPS. Many Boosterthon employees fall short, having either dropped out before getting ANY degree or having degrees from unaccredited schools.

Chris Carneal has a master's degree from a seminary. Once again, not enough.

Don't forget, Boosterthon now has a CONTRACT WITH FCPS to teach character, leadership and fitness. Funny that they can have such a contract without showing the credentials of their teachers. If I were an FCPS teacher, I'd be upset.

The non responsive school board and FCPS management have attracted the attention of some other people, local members of the House of Delegates are demanding answers, as some of FCPS' funding comes from Richmond.

So your argument then is that a) taking more than the rather arbitrary 4 years to complete an undergrand disqualifies from teaching in FCPS. And further that b) anyone that was a member of a fraternity or sorority in college is automatically disqualified from teaching in FCPS.

What lengths you will go to in order to pretend the real reason you are waging the war on boosterthon is not because of the religious affiliations of some of the founders of the organization.

1) Neither Chris Carneal nor Brett Trapp are qualified to teach in Virginia.

2) Mr. Trapp's fraternity fixation is questionable. He needs to grow up.

3) The company's lack of transparency is a problem.

4) The game with FCPS and PTA/PTO contracts is a problem. What is going on? Principals won't respond, administrators won't respond.

5) The lack of review of Boosterthon's "lessons" is a problem.

6) The lack of documentation on the personnel Boosterthon sends into the schools is a problem.

7) Boosterthon's consumption of instructional time is a problem.

Religion is not the issue. Even if Chris Carneal held a doctorate in theology, he would still not be qualified to teach. Trapp has a longer road ahead of him.

Boosterthon gets in the wrong way, by taking PTO/PTA people to Atlanta on all expenses paid trips. Also, a pro-Boosterthon PTA person is now a manager at White Oaks ES.

If FCPS is going to send money on these people and let them into the schools, there needs to be transparency. Not just Brett Trapp saying "educators and moms" write up their lessons.

Also, why do we have to put up with Boosterthon reading the Bible in classrooms and arguing with science teachers?

Boosterthon needs to go, let the schools figure it out.
