Last week’s bankruptcy court docket brought what looks to be bad news for The Beer Joint Brewery in Leesburg.

The Beer Joint — formal name, The Beer Joint Brewing Leesburg, LLC — filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition Jan. 13, citing debts of between $100,000 and $500,000 and assets of less than $50,000.

The Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition, which was filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, seeks to liquidate the corporate entity rather than the reorganization that is the end goal of Chapter 11 filings.

Debtors listed in the filing include utilities such as Dominion Virginia Power and Washington Gas as well as the Virginia Department of Taxation. The restaurant also appears to owe federal and state payroll taxes as well as Leesburg meals taxes.

The restaurant, which is located at 50 Catoctin Circle NE in Leesburg, was rebranded as The Beer Joint in September after eight years as Vintage 50. The change shifted The Beer Joint to a bar-focused spot with an emphasis on beer and bourbon. The brewery continued to operate as it had when it was Vintage 50.

Calls to Beer Joint owner Anthony Cavallo and his attorney, Joseph Langone,

so on paper your in business 8 years (about the time NJ started weaseling into metro contracts and takeover of loudoun politics)

you now say you "lawfully spent $500,000 making beer" and the public owes the money since "the beer was not sold"

absolute bullshit

and i know better than to think Loudoun has had a successful brewery. anyone studying breweries know most are german immigrants from the 1800's who are long since tried and loyal beer americans: Craft Beer to drop a name.

and what is the famous NJ beer italians have been making? ZERO. none.
