This differene between Gatehouse I and II can be more easily understood with the earlier reference to the New and Old German Chancellery buildings. More specifically, Gatehouse I is the building which rhe FCPS nazis occupy; it is analagous to the Old Chacellery which the German nazis occupied. At one point SOAR had a link on their website promoting the purchase of Gatehouse II so it is dishonest that they did not fall under her evil spell.

This is a new world order. We will not be bullied by our school board members or ordered to play their sadistic games. Money will be allocated via the CIP on an as needed basis-no more jumping the CIP (like Stu and South Lakes).

FCPS is focusing the current CIP solely on enrollment and capacity issues and not future renovation projects to address projections of significant enrollment increases over the next 5 years. While WSHS and Langley HS are now listed in the CIP, addressing schools like WSHS in the new school renovation queue has been suspended for at least this year.

In his Nov 2008 letter to the West Springfield community, FCPS COO Dean Tistadt stated that FCPS “projects an additional 5,000 students between Sept 2008 and Sept 2009.” But actual FCPS enrollment has grown by only 502 students from Sept 2008 to March 2009.

Also, Springfield School Board Member Liz Bradsher is chairing a new ad hoc FCPS Comprehensive Planning Committee that will determine capital needs to address capacity and enrollment issues. This committee will also address future renovation needs.

Fairfax County budget shortfalls may result in a $15 million reduction in annual CIP funding from $155 million to $140 million. FCPS is also considering potential changes to the scope of future renovations to complete more timely renovations given funding constraints and the number of schools in queue. The timing of any new FCPS renovation scope proposals is uncertain but hopefully will happen this year.
The current projected WSHS renovation timeline is renovation beginning in 2020 with a fully renovated WSHS in 2023. The current WSHS facility is not sustainable for the next 15 years. WSHS has submitted more than two thousand maintenance work orders over the past 3 years, among the highest of any FCPS high school. This renovation strategy would be a win-win for both West Springfield and all of Fairfax County .

West Springfield parents, if they are smart enough to ignore SOAR and their friend Lizzy, better make noise now.

Bradsher and Storck made sue that Lake Braddock was included in the new Annandale boundary discussion-why? so that those 400 empty seats (that Tistadt said did not exist 6 months ago) can be taken up. That way, the SOCO crew can keep demanding that their school is overcrowded and get their new $70 million school with TAXPAYER MONEY!!!!!!!
