Just checked the website. Fairfax County Schools are close today, Tuesday, Jan. 27th 2015. What a fucking joke, there's barely an inch out there, at least in Annandale anyways. Back when I was a kid we would've been lucky to get a two hour delay with that bit of snow.

I was out last night around 10 pm driving and it was clear schools would be closed today.

I told my kids to turn their alarms off!

The snow coverage was very different depending on where you are in the county.

Near the Potomac it was slightly warmer and there was less sticking on the roads, but near Tysons/Vienna, there was much more snow on the road.

About 4 inches where I am now.

Nothing here in Bailey's Crossroads.

Strange, I'm about 1 mile south of Bailey's Crossroads and we have about 3 inches. Main roads are fine, but some neighborhood roads are still covered. That was a very strange weather phenomenon for you to get nothing.

A lot in fairfax station. They look at the whole county not just your area.

Schools are closed. Don't bring your accidental cumshots to our schools. We're enjoying a day off from them. Probably will have to make it up later but for today they are your responsibility.

Whether your part of the county as one inch or four inches, it's still lame that VDOT and FCPS can't figure out how to keep school open. In other, more northerly, parts of the country this would be just another school day.

SHUT THE FUCK UP. You say the same shit every day. School is closed because we don't have the equipment they do in New York because they have more snow. It would be a waste of money.

I was able to walk a half mile to my bus lot without a problem. On my way there I pass my local elementary school. If I could walk there then so can those little snot droppings. I wore boots to make sure I didn't slip. FCPS is worse than the Gov't when it comes to closing. Don't get me wrong but I wouldn't have minded if the Gov't closed but come on FCPS closed because of this shit?!?!?!? This just pussifies our students.

It's good that we teach our children that they are not capable of overcoming the slightest adversity. Otherwise they may develop a sense of self-reliance and start voting Republican. Remember - only the government can be trusted to take care of you!

And lo and behold, the fucking schools were closed AGAIN today! Some bullshit teachers workday - sounds like that's what Saturdays are for! Got little yard apes running around making noise, once again. Someone said they're closed on Monday too - great!
