FCPS 2 Hour delays - New rules

Under the new model FCPS adopted this past year three two hour delays equal one day of missed school. Before they short of didn't count at all, for mandatory state requirements it only mattered if you were out the whole day.

So we are now up to 3 days missed. Still have 9 to go.

The state controls, and it allows a standard of either 180-days or 990-hours for defining a full school year. FCPS switched to the hourly basis this year concurrent with the ending of early-close Mondays for ES students. Four new student-holidays/teacher-workdays were also added to the calendar. Under the new standards and schedule, make-up time for weather-related delays and closings will only need to be added after the equivalent of 13 days has been reached.

Shouldn't that be a general disclaimer in all FU threads?

Our school principal announced to the parents that the late starts now count against us, i.e. exactly what OP stated.

Yes. Delays do count towards missed school days.

Only 9 snow days left until Summer school starts for every one.
