I can't find any TV info other than NFL Network for today's deadskins game. I don't want to miss the comedy show. Anyone know if it's on a local station?

Usually one of the major channels like Fox or CBS are forced to also carry it when NFL Network does. I think CBS channel 9 has it today.

But beware RG3 die hards are thinking this will be his second coming.

FOX was going to air it but decided showing "It's a Wonderful Life" for the 12,000th time would get better ratings.

Deadskins 10

RG 3andOut will get sacked 6 times and throw 3 interceptions.

Kilton,

Maybe you havent ever seen a Lombardi trophy, but well let you Polish our three if you ever visit Redskins Park.

How many teams have NEVER won a Super Bowl? Philly is losertown. Weve owned you in football except the last few years, we also now own you in baseball. Say goodbye to the NL East just like you have the NFC East. You wont win that either

Teehee, you dummy. I'm not from Philly and I don't root for their teams. Their fans are the most classless thugs in all of sports.

But Philly is a far better sports town than DC, no doubt about that.

I hope the Nats continue their great "success" owning the regular season, and then choking in the playoffs. They're a perfect fit for DC. :-)

So your one of those jump on the bandwagon losers, like Cowboys fans in DC who never lived in Texas, or kids when i was growing up that were from here but rooted for the Dolphins or Steelers. Easy to be a fan who roots against everyone.

Philly is only a bettter sportstown because the consume more alcohal per capita, you have to when youve had so many sucky teams.

Were Skins fans despite having the worst owner in the NFL. If you had Snyder for your owner youd have bailed on this team.

Nats are basically still a brand new team - and they already own Philly.

That isn't true. Artisan Entertainment Company acquired the film rights from Republic in 1998. In 1994, Republic signed a "long-term" deal granting NBC exclusive rights to broadcast the movie, and the network typically does so between one and three times a year. That deal is still in effect.

Interestingly, between 1974 and 1994, the film was considered to be in the public domain, but that's a whole other lesson.

What's this "we" shit? Are you Danny Snyder? Are you on the Redskins payroll? Are all Redskins fans so deluded and pathetic that they cannot separate their own identity from that of a for-profit corporation that gouges them year after year for the privilege of watching a terrible product on display? Jackasses. What town DOESNT refer to their teams as OURS or WE? You think NY fans dont use "we" when referring to their teams?

Lets see, just since ive been a kid...

THREE Super Bowl Wins, and another two Super Bowl appearances.
ONE NBA title, and another championship game appearance.
Capitals have recently been in NHL finals and have league MVP.
Basically inherited a minor league MLB team that already has two NL East titles
Think DC United even won a championship or two.

Supposed great sports towns like Philly and Chicago? One super bowl win between them, and the Cubs are a perennial goat. Nats will make it to World Series before they do.

Move on loser, you are pulling DC down and we sure as hell dont need YOU!

Problem is quite a few sports fans in the region will have died before "we" see another championship team. "they" have every right to be pissed. I won't waste money on losing teams with overpaid players.

Nobody should be content with overpriced losers...thus the name "deadskins", but you root anyway. Nationals are putting a good product on the field. Redskins, no, and why season ticket sales are down. Wizards actually playing well and you can find cheap tickets easily in craigslist. Dont have to pay to be a fan, but if you call somewhere home people generally root for teams in that area.

Pittsburgh fans most def consider Penns, Stillers, and Pirates "we." Remember the whole "we are family"? It wasnt "They are family." Guy probably never played a team sport to think like that.

Sheesh -- lots of angry Skins fans around here today! Don't worry guys. The DC-area sports curse will end eventually. I'm predicting PLAYOFFS for the Skins next year!

Now, back to your question. People who are normal -- i.e., people who aren't so wrapped up in sports that they bleed identities together and consider themselves and their local teams as "one" -- don't say "we" when referring to the teams that they root for.

Hope this helps. :-)

Sports are the one common denominator any city shares. Cuts across all demographic lines and unifies a town, good or bad.

You are a fing idiot I'm sure you never played ANY organized sport.

EVERYONE who roots for their home team uses WE. Except you loser who has no team to root for, because you are too much if a pussy to take a stand.

Also, looks like the previous poster was not even a Skins fan and makes a good point. And Pittsburgh is a dump. Even they realize that!

Some good reasons why using "we" is the right thing to do...

If you went to a college, you should say "we" when talking about your school's team. Your alma mater is a part of who you are. The players on your college team aren't just playing for those at the school now, but represent everyone who came before them, both on and off the field. If you went to a school, you are a part of that school. Forever. It's we.

Re: deadskins

Let's explore this idea from a more linear standpoint: Owners hire players to represent their franchise. Owners pay for the players' salaries through two basic revenue streams: television dollars and ticket sales. You can add in parking, concessions and merchandise into the basic idea of ticket sales. On a basic level, the owners make money off selling things to fans. Fans, therefore, feel a sense of ownership of the team (note: in Green Bay, fans actually have ownership of the team) by using their money to buy the things that make the owners enough money to be able to pay the players the fans will support by purchasing more tickets and merchandise that, in turn, helps the owners make more money to pay the players….it's the circle of life.

Maybe by plunking down hundreds of dollars to sit in the stands and wear team colors, fans have earned the right to say "we."

I too am a big fan of the Redskins and other corporations such as Lockheed Martin, McDonalds, Pepsi Corp, and Sony. LOL, +1000

The ridiculous attempts at justifying this "we" stuff are pretty amusing. So far we've heard the following:

- BUT EVERYONE DOES IT!!!! (False)

- It's "the right thing to do" (Why?)

- Fans "earn" it when they spend money on the team (Dumb)

Keep 'em coming guys. :-)
