It gives more retired school admins and instructors that reinvent the wheel with consulting firms the ability to suck more money other than their retirement from taxpayers.

Homework is no longer graded in many FCPS schools now.

This is NOT the case across the board and the problem is not whether the homework is graded or not.

Unfortunately the way FCPS and most schools in the area function HW is required to fully grasp the material and concepts. Do not do your homework, be a bit behind when you start the class you are going to always be behind, will not catch up and will not understand the concepts and retain the information. Then when it comes time for "standardized" testing the kids are not likely going to do well.

I will say that environment does have a lot to do with the students achievement, but there are plenty of families that are constantly having their kids being tutored so they can get A's.

This extra time involved with studying, added support does help the bottom line.

It takes not only the schools but the parents/family to be involved and expect their kids to excel. Too much time playing video games, Facebooking, pick up basketball, or hanging out with looser kids that do drugs or nothing good will just drag the kids down.

It's simple, it's whiteys fault.

It actually is whitey's fault, as whitey needs to invent a better black man.

Absolutely true. Those who can, teach. Those who can't teach become counselors and administrators. They have to find something to do, so they choose a problem that will take years and years and tons of money to even make a bit of progress. And the educational/industrial complex rolls on and on.
