Does a plane crash warrant extended local news coverage from all the 5 local news channels?

Channel 4.
Channel 5.
Channel 7.
Channel 8.
Channel 9.

Is all this extended local news coverage really necessary?
Planes crash all the time.
If you are flying hundreds of feet up in the air and then you crash, chances are good you are going to die.

No, planes DON'T crash all of the time. Civilian, non-combat flying is MUCH safer than it used to be. So just quit complaining and either watch the coverage or turn the TV off.

Nothing more News worthy, if there were more riots or another police shooting, then that would monopolize the day.

Only problem is how can the media spin this up to keep it going for days or weeks at ta time.
