Anyone else water smell like chlorine?

Its terrible! for the past couple of days the water smells like someone fell asleep at the treatment plant and let way too much chlorine get in. I took a bath tonight to try and help a muscle pain from baseball and I felt like I was sitting in a hot tub, ffx water needs to wake up.

It's part of the Spring flushing of the mains. It'll go away. Happens every Spring.

You are part of the Falls Church Shitty water system which buys its water from the Army Corps of Engineers. Each spring they flush the lines with chlorine for a couple of weeks to cut down on accumulated bacteria in the 100+ year old distribution system. It will pass.

To explain the situation, the water authority includes an explanation with their statements (last billing period).

Your joke failed, because CFC receives its water from the FCWA. Hence, the pending $20M lawsuit against them.

Ahh...Chlorine. I'm sure there absolutely nothing bad about breathing in aerosolized chlorine in the shower.

You would never be able to get lung cancer or emphysema from anything like that....

I'm experiencing the same, and it's early December. I pay FFX Co. Water and live in Reston. Anyone else?

Yeppers. It's been worse the last couple weeks.

I use one of these babies for drinking water:

And one of these for the shower:

Don't believe everything you hear just because its EPA or FDA approved, or in this case, cause the (Washington Aqueduct) arm of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that processes the city's water, says its okay.

This (excuse my french) sh!t eats away at your plumbing. Not even reverse osmosis can get rid of the toxins.. wth?

We're already drinking mercury and flouride in our tap. Thanks EPA.

Hey Blank Reg-

I work in water quality for a local utility, and the sulphur smell you are getting may have to do with the dip tube in your water heater? You may be able to retro-fit that thing pretty easy and cheap, and lose the smell. Hope this helps!

To keep the water from smelling like chlorine, it's best to put a shower filter! Chlorine won't seem horrible to you anymore) I have a big house and I put a filtration system in the basement, but it didn't help. The shower filter, on the other hand, handled the problem perfectly!
