The Great Fairfax City Sinkhole

Driving west on 236, just after the Welcome to Fairfax City sign, across from AAA, before the Pickett Rd light. It's in the left lane, and getting wider and deeper, little by little.

Wonder what's happening under the pavement, and when someone is going to fall through.

It is a mystic vortex. Be careful, if you are a white guy in a bouncing pickup truck and drive over it you will get sucked in and come out on Americana drive in Annandale as a Latino man in a 93 Corolla. You will be doomed to drive around Fairfax county at no more than 34 mph for all eternity or until you collapse from congestive heart failure. Many a good man has fallen victim to the vortex.

yea i didn't know fx city is full of foreigners who are getting city contracts left and right

bullshit they aren't fixing potholes.

they are spending money like crap having city workers (foreigners of course) redo the side-walks on private residencies

You talkin' 'bout this section?

Looks like there is a big drop based on the oil stains on the road. Probably related to the storm sewer nearby. Those oil stains are a great indicator of road conditions ahead. Used to ride motorcycles all the time and watched for them. Will not ride in this area ever, due to the assholes per square mile factor.

There are two Fairfax City trucks setting up cones there this morning. Appears they are going to take a look.

So reporting on Fairfax underground does have some influence on the city's behavior.
