Beginning in mid-April, Walney Road will be closed from Westfields Boulevard to Mariah Court ... The road will re-open ... on Sept. 1.

That will do wonder's for the traffic back-ups around 28/50, 28/Westfields, 28/66...

Dang...I work in that area. That will certainly be a pain in the ass. And it's going to be closed for nearly 6 months. Seems like a long time to build a relatively small bridge.

While they're at it I wish they would just knock down that shitty fence around that shitty yard of that shitty house at the corner of Walney and Dallas and make 2 continuous lanes from Willard all the way to 50.

Close it off permanently.

Put in a bike trail.

Build a pedestrian access-only towne centre.

Name it after me.

That little piece of crap road is a major traffic diverter for Rt 50. In order to get to Stringfellow to Fairlakes from Chantilly, one is going to have to sit in that mess of Rt 50 east bound in the evening.

All of "west County" was nicer in the days before they began calling it that.
