THIS IS THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR FAIRFAX COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS:
FCPS WILL CLOSE 2 HRS EARLY DUE TO THE IMPENDING SNOWSTORM. THERE WILL BE NOW SCHOOL ON THURSDAY 11/27 DUE TO THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY OR FRIDAY 11/28 DUE TO THE THANKSGIVING BREAK. CLASSES WILL RESUME ON MONDAY DECEMBER 1ST.
PARENTS BE SURE TO PICK UP YOUR CHILDREN AS SCHOOL OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED.

All Fairfax County public schools will close two hours early on Wednesday, November 26, in an effort to help school buses avoid the increased traffic related to the Thanksgiving holiday.

FCPS Department of Transportation and Safety announces the following:
All FCPS schools will be CLOSED tomorrow, Nov. 28, due to anticipated travel difficulties stemming the Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service, and anticipated transit issues stemming from the Federal Holiday.

Why don't they just say what they mean-
Closed early because FCPS staff wants a halfday off. Hell why not just close the schools for the whole month of November. Lord knows that FCPS never operate anyway.
