At the place you bought the new one.

If you buy a replacement battery, they will charge you a "core" charge of about $10 if you do not return an old battery.

If you do not need to buy a new battery, any auto parts store, service garage or place that sells batteries should accept them.

You can also take them to the local county transfer station and they have an area for old batteries that the will recycle.

Most people just throw them in the Potomac river. It supports the natural habitat by properly maintaining the river's pH balance.

If it can still hold a charge, I am looking for more power to the nipple jumper cables for my clients.

Any auto parts store will gladly take them. They get a few bucks for them from recycle companies.

You can go ahead and burn an old battery...Just build a bonfire and throw it in there.

I tried to throw one away once and the garbage nan left it at my curb with a note telling me I couldn't throw it away. I buried it in the common area behind my house.

Don't listen to these assholes who tell you to leave it in a dumpster etc. That could be very dangerous.

Before you do anything, you must de-activate the battery.

A few blows from a sledgehammer or axe will render it safe.

I just leave them at a gas station. I'm sure one of the mechanics will eventually find it and throw it out properly. Just leave it sitting out there before you drive off. I never got caught.

Does your community have a pool? Just throw it in and it'll help keep the water clean through the winter.

Advance Auto Parts will give you a $5 gift card for a battery. Take it to any of their locations.

There are tons of AAP in this area because of all the Spanish people and their piece of shit cars.
