He and his family are still having problems that false accusation. There doesn't seem to be a process in place to "restore" someone's reputation after you falsely accuse them (in public).

This case was a travesty from day one. The real criminals in this case were the sick little brat who falsely accused Lannigan, the overzealous Fairfax investigator who not only refused to properly investigate the accusation, but who actually threatened anyone who wouldn't support her preconceived notion of the facts that did/didn't take place, the Fairfax County school system, who not only immediately assumed that Lannigan was guilty, but even after the jury found him innocent (after only a few minutes), continued its witch hunt against Lannigan. The icing on the cake, for Lannigan was that he ultimately had to sue just to get some of his legal expenses back.

Never an apology from the school system, little bitch, nor any contrition from her self-absorbed parents.

I hope the girl grows up to go to college and get raped by a fraternity, and have no one believe her story...that would be poetic justice...

I believe she is either a junior or senior in high school now, probably either at Centreville or Westfield if she attended Centre Ridge. Her name was never made public, the court didn't want her to be haunted by a stupid decision she made when she was 12. While I agree with that, she and her parents should've been made to formally apologize to Lanigan, they ruined his life. She suffered no consequences, so I'm sure she's still the same entitled little brat she was back then. But yeah, if you don't already know who she is, good luck finding a photo.

NO charges have been filed.

I will say however that Lanigan should of picked up on the clue when he took the job at SL. What the school board was trying to tell him was that he was not fired but he should lay low in his new position and quietly find a new job in a new town. He did not do that and kept at his "new" job. Something had to give sooner or later.

My life changed forever on a January day in 2010 when I was falsely accused by one of my elementary school students of serious misconduct. There were two stunning criminal charges made against me, both felonies, that could have resulted in me being imprisoned for as long as 40 years.
