What is wrong with Fairfax Co. households

Went trick or treating with the kids tonight. More than in past years there were more houses that were lights-out tonight. Even ones where I could clearly see someone was home. Is it just that fewer people participate anymore?

I used to go all out - spent hundreds of dollars and many hours on special effects for Halloween. We were known as the best house in the neighborhood. I loved it. But then our cars were vandalized. I still tried, but my heart wasn't really in it. My kids got older and the number of trick or treaters diminished. This year I just put out a big bowl of candy. Almost nothing was taken. I feel sorry for kids on Halloween now, but it's time for someone else to take up the slack. Unfortunately, people don't seem to be interested.

We hardly got any kids tonight, maybe 7 groups of 5 kids. I remember having the doorbell ring every couple minutes a few years ago. I was starting to get all butt hurt that kids weren't showing up but it seems to be the norm now. Sad.

Kids would rather go trick or treating online now.

By the way, have you seen how little candy $20 gets you these days? Fuck those little monsters.

We had a couple of libtards come up to our door and shout stuff about electing Gerry Connolly. I wish I coulda ran out there and ask them about the 2nd amendment but of course, like liberal pussies, they ran off. Probably getting free stuff as we're speaking.

Halloween is still a very popular holiday. It's all cyclic and depends on neighborhood demographics and timing - - we had about 30 tonight and over hundred five years ago. Plus it's Friday and there are sports and other events ongoing, The dummies at FCPS closed the schools next Monday and Tuesday so maybe lots of families skipped out.

Sounds like you're the one there's something wrong with. Nobody is obligated to hand out candy to your kids.

My neighborhood had 8 kids and 5 of them were too old to be out trick or treating.

Most of the neighborhood was dark and some of the houses even pulled the bulbs out of the driveway lamp post. No one even bothered with a pumpkin. In all fairness we did have some petty theifs and car break ins over the last couple of years, but that all happens after 9:30.

It's the newer neighborhoods where you have a higher population of toddlers to grade school kids that participate the most. That, and the fact that most Indian and Asian families who just moved here in the last generation think Halloween is weird.

We had around 50 last night. Didn't see any kids who don't live around here and most all had their parents with them. Only two were "too old" for trick or treating, one was asking for donations for some cause or another and the other is a bit strange for a 15 year old. I wish one of Connolly's puppets had tried to hand me a flyer. I would have a great story to share this morning. :)

So impressive to hear what you asses in overalls would have done to any libtards who came to your door! As if trick-or-treatin' down the holler would be a sensible thing to do. Too much banjo music. By the way, I think your cousin has left you and is now sleeping with your nephew. Danged extra chromosomes...

I think this might have something to do with so many schools being used as voting places next week. What do you think? Any chance of that having come into play?

No. Schools here have been used as polling places for many, many years yet this is the first year that they've closed early on Halloween. Maybe they need the time to bus in and house all the illegal hispanic democrat voters.

1. Not everyone worships the devil
2. If parents are taking the kids out, there's no one left behind to attend to their own house door .. So..
3. People don't feel safe anymore

Had about 15 groups knock on the door for Halloween last night. More than the past few years. Probabaly because it was a Friday. Mostly young kids. A couple of groups of teenagers around 16 or 17. I enjoy the whole ritual of seeing the costumes and giving out candy.

LOL! The original post stated that "The dummies at FCPS closed the schools next Monday and Tuesday so maybe lots of families skipped out."

With as many morons on the loose as would appear to be the case from posts on FFXU, why would anyone feel safe anywhere? Insane people left to walk the streets alone. Very scary. Meanwhile, many families are able to calculate that if just one parent goes out with the kids, the other one can be at home. In fact, One or two parents can actually take the kids from multiple families around, leaving lots of folks at home.

As for the devil, please try to get a grip.

I don't bother with Halloween anymore.

My neighborhood has changed and the trick or treaters are all brown or black.
You can NOT be nice to those animals or they'll think it's okay to shit on you.

You want them to think you are a loco gringo that might get violent if he catches their brown asses on his property. I hate to be like this, but it's all that sub-human garbage understands.

Due to the ever increasing cost of groceries, increased cost of medical insurance due to "The UNAFFORDABLE Care Act" and high gas prices etc etc etc a lot of people can't afford to give out candy. Also you get the kids coming to your house but when your kids go to their house - they aren't given any candy out. It is the take take take mentality of a lot of people in our society these days.
FCPS always dismisses 2 hours early on the last day of the quarter and always have the following school day or two off for teachers to finalize grades etc.

^Not true.

Also, sugar is really bad for us and I honestly feel bad giving kids candy---it leads to obesity. I gave it out anyway, but still don't feel good about it. I hope the parents monitor sugar intake.

I wonder how many illegals live in that neighborhood, and the maids quarters don't count.

It all starts at school. Not allowed to celebrate Halloween so the kids are not excited to go trick or treating anymore. At least when I was a kid I wore my costume all day instead of a few hours. many do not do holloween. Because they did not do so in their country and now they do not worry about learning what is done in the USA because they know we will adjust for them so they are not offened by what we do. This county is going down so bad and we are allowing it to happen. Let your kids be kids and have done fun for once. When I was a kid we were told of all the Horrible things people did to kids on holloween but we went out trick or treating anyways and had a blast. Parents today will not just let go and allow them to have fun. Or better yet make your kids put down the electronic and go out and be with people, meet their neighbors

You are such an ass! It is the end of the first quarter and they always close for two days afterwards. FCPS is also closing early before every holiday break this year. Do not insult fcps!

Same. But I went driving over to my friends house In Chantilly (she lives in these New McMansions Neighberhood) and every light was on and EVERYONE were on the streets. I think it's because parents in older Neighberhoods want to keep ther kids safe since Immigrants took over older Neighberhoods and made HALLOWEEN look like Christmas in Saudi Arabia

Compare halloween now to how it was 15 years ago. Now compare the demographics in this area to how they were 15 years ago. Lots of my neighbors, literally, didn't even know it was halloween.
