Local Machine Shops or Places That Sell Unique Nuts and Bolts

Are there any places in the area that have a large stock of unique nuts and bolts?

I have a 1/2 connection bolt with an odd head. It's almost impossible to describe what I am looking for, so I can't Google it. Hoping to find a place I could go to and show them today.

Any help is appreciated!

No camera, but it is a 1/2 inch 3 inches in length connection bolt with a hollow body to run wiring through. The head is a flat square made to fit into a slotted opening on a swivel.

This is probably more confusing than helpful, sorry again for not having a camera.

I don't know but Sears hardware has more specialized bolts etc than Home Depot or Lowes.

I've used this forum for when I doing electrical stuff etc, seems to have a lot of knowledgeable people. Could take a picture and send it to them..

Ayers in Westover has a pretty good selection of loose nuts and bolts. I've purchased quite a few over the years. The nuts and bolts are located in the middle of the store. First hardware aisle after the variety store.

Who doesnt have a camera these days?

Maybe you should forget this bolt and buy a phone or a camera.

http://www.spaenaur.com/ -- they're in Canada but their catalog is a geek's wet dream (well, a REALISTIC geek's wet dream). More fun fasteners than you can shake a stick at.

Grainger's usually has that sort of shit. Otherwise an industrial fastener supply store.

Find someone with a lathe, buy him a beer and he'll make it to the exact spec.

If you can't post pictures and provide measurements, you'll likely be out of luck.

How about getting another from the company that made the thing that you are trying to fix?
