Why is DANVILLE-Emporia-Martinsville-Bristol areas look like Crap to Northern Virginians? I mean we have small towns which are way better than having 100 Malls. We have Southern Hospitality and most of our Population is WHITE. Unlike NoVa where no one is nice and where 1% of the Population are white but they're from Ohio/Pennsylvania. Most of our neighbors are Native Virginians. Our small towns look like you've stepped back into the 50's, 60's, 70's and Even 80's. While Northern Virginia is a Shitty Suburb with everything modernized. People in Southern Virginia are in KKK, while people in Northern Virginia side with the Terrorist and be nice towards them. All I could say is.. FUCK NORTHERN VIRGINIA! WHEN IS IT GOING TO SECEED SO THAT WE COULD HAVE OUR OLD RACIST SOUTHERN VIRGINIA BACK?!

I use to work for a well-known engineering firm headquarted in Fairfax. The company is privately held and does a lot of shit that would have shareholders screaming "WTF" if they had any.

One of these practices is setting up shop and pouring money/resources into places with horrible markets like Danville. Yes, Danville. I had to go there once and can confirm that they have crap like we have up here - shopping malls, shitty chain restaurants (Outback, Olive Garden), and commercial areas that are supposed to be "revitalized."

The reason that it "looks like crap" to Northern Virginians is because it actually looks like crap. Its not a city, not a suburb, and not a small town. Its just a bunch of development that happened with little to no planning and little to no resources to keep it maintained. Outside of Danville is probably fine for people who want to live a rural lifestyle, but living in Danville proper has got to suck ass.

I doubt the OP has ever lived in southern Virginia towns such as Danville, Emporia or Martinsville. The populations do not contain the large numbers of Hispanics or recent immigrants that you find in NoVa. They don't have large populations of transplants from the northeast and midwest. However they do have very large populations of African-Americans either in town or in the immediate surrounding area. I believe Danville, Emporia or Martinsville all have over 40% African-American populations. If you are looking for a new white utopia, then the towns of southside Virginia are not for you. Plus while racism is a problem in some of those towns, it isn't KKK racism.
