Will FCPS ever name a school after President Obama?

It would be a great honor to do that. They already named one after Bush.

Sure they will. Fairfax county excels in the NWO indoctrination program endorsed by Sharon Bulova.

No amount of money is too great for the purpose of mind control of the kids. After all Hitler used the same technique to subdue the German people and then launch his reign of terror!

Lets all slobber over USA hater Obama and name two schools after him. That would be historic wouldn't it?

Yes. Although not quite as good as a Corporate shill/spokesman as Reagan was Barry has been pretty damn good to our Corporate ruling class. He will be honored just not with the same volume or fanfare as the better salesman such as Ronnie.

Goobers swallowed Uncle Ronnie whole. He broke out his "kindly grandfather" character in front of the camera, and the rubes just ate up every bit of it. If not for Bush-43, Reagan would be in the running for worst President in a really long time.

Stay on subject people, we're talking about FCPS and Section 8 Sharon renaming a school after Barack Obola.

It was a prophetic move on FCPS part. Very wise of them. FCPS clearly knew what great leaders the Bush presidents would be.

They should name some of the satellite classroom trailers after Obama, Carter, Nixon...

Careful. FOX News watchers might actually believe that. System-wide, I can't tell you how many taxpayer dollars have to be thrown at unteaching the things that kids have picked up from watching FOX News.

Has Fairfax County named any school after a U.S. President who was not born in Virginia?

Perhaps a school for the profoundly retarded could be named after Obama. It'd be the best fit.

Chairman Bulova was elected to head the Board of Supervisors. She does not sit on the School Board.

I wonder if it was named for President Garfield. Any of our Springfield history experts know how this school got its name?

Gar-Field in Woodbridge is a combo of two local families, Gar-something and something-field.

Don't ask.

Gar: Garcon, as in Pierre Garcon

Field: W.C. Fields, however the end "s" was dropped due to then prevalent antisemitism from Va. Democrats

Thought it was Greta GARbo...

True story from Wiki-

The name Gar-Field is derived from two prominent local families, the Garbers and the Manderfields, who donated the land for the original school just off of U.S. Highway #1. The comic strip "Ber-Mander", which appears on the back page of the school newspaper, utilizes the unused portions of these names. Ber-Mander was created by artist Chris Sprouse (a 1984 graduate of Gar-Field) in the early 1980s, and featured a "hippie" title character.

Garfield ES is located on Old Keene Mill Road in Springfield. It recalls one of various past names for the region, this one from the Garfield post office, named for the assassinated President, that operated at the intersection of Old Keene Mill and Backlick Roads betwee 1881 and 1907. The name Garfield continued to appear on maps until after WWII.

FCPS no longer names high schools or middle schools after people, living or dead. no matter who is proposed, some group would be against it. So they just name them for their geographical locations.

Elementary schools are still named after people, as long as they are black. So yes, an Obama Elementary is definitely possible, maybe even probable.
