If it's a regular sale, it does not happen, unless it's shit shack in Detroit.

I'm terribly sorry, but the city boundary runs along S Washington Street. The giant Tinner Hill hole in the ground is on the north side of the street, squarely within the city limits. The project is indeed bounded on the east side by Tinner Hill Road.

Not so much. Your city is failing to lead in the area of "the way tear-downs are supposed to be done". Clear-cutting is to responsible forestry as Tinner Hill is to proper suburban redevelopment.

Yes, the made-to-order sushi stand is very nice. With Norm's, Elevation Burger, Sweet Ginger, and Pazzo Pomodoro all right there as well, Very nice. I think you do at least have an Elevation Burger in Falls Church though. I believe it even overlooks the giant Tinner Hill hole in the ground.

Indeed it does. But actual Tinner Hill is across the street, which is in Fairfax County.

Again, that is not Tinner Hill.

Tinner Hill Road is not Tinner Hill. You do understand that Tinner Hill is in fact, a hill that ascends from Lee Highway (which is in Fairfax County).

It's OK. Nothing to write home about. There's Pizzeria Orso. Perhaps you've heard of it? Probably not. Red White and Bleu?

Yes. It is the original.

This must be the first construction project you've ever visited. Many of the good ones start with a hole in the ground.

It is called building a foundation. Not surprised you don't understand how large construction projects work. Go back to playing in the dirt.

I wonder how many more times you tell yourself before you actually start believing it. The fact that you are so proud of an absolute failure on your part speaks volume of your lack of accomplishments in life.

And if that is all it was supposed to be and was ever going to be, you might have a point (for the first time in your life). But alas, you failed again as it will be a nice entrance to the city. A nice distinction from the county side of 29 that is riddled with run down hotels.

You wouldn't know how such an enterprise is supposed to be done.

Actually, I sailed right through middle school. And a lot of increasingly challenging levels thereafter. This is how my capacity and life-style ultimately came to dwarf and mock yours so severely.

Entrance to the city from where? The rest of Falls Church?

Well, there is the Quarry Inn. No frills, good location, good value, great service. Been there almost forty years. Otherwise, what the county side is riddled with is the large and solidly middle class residential neighborhood of Greenway Downs. Do you actually live in Falls Church at all? I live a long way away, and yet I know more about it than you do.

Because of all the nice shopping and dining options there, I drive into and out of Vienna quite a lot. Now that the clouds of the Great Bush Recession have been lifting, I see examples of how in-fill ad tear-down are supposed to be done all the time. Tinner Hill ain't it.

Meanwhile your preferred Fresh Market is in an old run down A&P. Sure, they gave it some paint and minor facelift, but it wreaks of 1970s suburban hell.

To the city center. From the 29 side heading north from Merrifield. Get out a bit more.

It is a nasty place infested with all sorts of vermin (human and non-human).

Greenway Downs is largely set back from 29.

Apparently you never visited the former location of the German Gourmet. I guess with the word "Gourmet" in its name you probably figured it was out of your price range. There is also the Budget Inn, Parrot store, the rundown strip of stores housing the Italian Café among others, a laundromat, an auto parts store, etc.

You have more than demonstrated that you don't really know much about anything. Claiming knowledge is not the same as actual knowledge. You're the kid that raised his hand all day in class and never got it correct. Eventually the teacher stopped calling on you to save you from the embarrassment. Too bad that didn't stick with you.

Save it for the playground, junior. You've been blown to bits again. You don't have NEARLY what it takes to compete here.

An artist's conception of the future? How pathetic. A simple drive-by today reveals the site as a ghastly scar. On Falls Church.

You were not alive yet in the 1970's and, intellectually speaking, you still aren't. The Fresh Market is an upscale specialty store. It carries many very good albeit rather expensive items that are not (or not reliably) available elsewhere. The site itself has not been an A&P for 40 years. It was formerly That's Amore! which was formerly Joe Theismann's which was formerly Minnesota Fabrics. Googling Norm's didn't tell you any of that, did it. Hence, the majestic splendor and scale of your abject stupidity were left to shine brightly through yet again. What a dumbfuck.

> To the city center.

Oh, you mean the giant "FOR LEASE" sign across the front of George Mason Square. Very impressive. Everyone will want to come see that.

Hmmm. How many days/weeks/months has your family lived there? The Quarry Inn actually targets no-frills, low-budget business travelers, and from the number of repeat customers, they seem to do quite a good job of meeting those needs.

> Greenway Downs is largely set back from 29.

By what, 80 feet? In some places?

LOL! The take-out braturst platter was very good. They still make those down at the new location on 244. In fact, I stopped there last week on the way back from picking up artisan breads at the White House Farmers Market. Gelbwurst, Thuringer bratwurst, weisswurst, Binkert's fine liverwurst, and of course a couple of pounds of the best German potato salad available anywhere. Picked up some jams for use in Christmas tarts as well. When I was there last month, I stood in line with a retired couple who had driven up from Richmond just to get the gelbwurst. I'm glad I don't have to drive that far.

> There is also the Budget Inn.

There is one, but it's blocks away. Your "riddled with" claim was just more baseless downscale goober babble and bullshit. Typical of what a brainless eighth-grader would produce.

Actually, I'm the kid who ended up with all the degrees and awards on the wall. Of course, I don't actually hang them on the wall. They are all in my CV and in a cardboard box at the back of some closet or other.

PS. You're an asshole.

It reveals a hole in the ground that most people with knowledge of these things call a "foundation." Go ahead, sound it out. I can't be held accountable for YOUR lack of vision.

> You were not alive yet in the 1970's

Sure was, but I don't expect for you to all of a sudden start being correct about anything.

I've been to many. The first was about 15 years ago. There is one not too far from an entrance to King's Mill in Williamsburg (go ahead and look that place up too). I was impressed then and am impressed now. I can't wait to have one within walking distance. Oh, and I mean my walking distance, not an out of shape idiot's walking distance (yes, I am referring to you).

Also, while a bit pricier than Giant or Safeway, I wouldn't call it "expensive." I can see why someone like you might find it to be though.

Which still makes it a former A&P. Which still makes it an antiquated building that has long outlived its purpose.

OMG, an office building has a for lease sign in front of it???? I bet you can't find any of that in Vienna!

LOL. If you consider those people business travelers, you've clearly never met a business traveler or traveled for business.

> There is one, but it's blocks away.

Blocks away? It is RIGHT NEXT to the Quarry Inn. I'd say walking distance, but we know your out of shape impotent ass couldn't walk the 25 feet between the two parking lots. It is the former Falls Church Motel, you dumb as shit fucktard.

Yes, this is you getting owned again for talking out of your ass and getting the facts shoved right down your insignificant pie hole.

While this thread has been clearly hijacked, I just want to point out that no business traveler would stay at a place like the Quarry Inn.

img2665650fc4fab7fdcb.gif

I especially like the mismatched chairs.

Business travelers prefer a place with dining options, a gym, and a reliable internet connection. They also probably prefer to not be woken up in the morning to the loud sounds of trucks being loaded with gravel and other stone products.

If you are contending that the Quarry Inn is used by business travelers, I'd like to know what type of business traveler you think would stay there. Many of the tenants are of the "no fixed address" type.

Also, the above poster is correct, the Budget Inn is right next to the Quarry Inn on 29. A simple street view search more than proves it.

Perhaps now the conversation can return to $500,000 ramblers!

The place is a dump. Nobody traveling for business would stay there.

People who are butthurt over housing prices don't understand that the price could be arbitrarily lower or higher based on supply and demand.

OMFG $500k is no different than OMFG $400k and OMFG $600k.

I can see how one would get noisy if they can't afford it or they lost one in foreclosure. It is what happens where people actually want to live for any reason, be it jobs, the California sunshine, the Hawaiian beaches, or the Ohio beer-swilling blue-collar numbnuts.

I left an area at a time when its housing market was much more bubble-expensive than Fairfax about a year before the crash. Both the properties I sold went into foreclosure on their liar loans. I moved that bubble-equity here and it weathered the crash much better.

If I didn't have that bubble-equity lowering my house payment, I'd be living in Manassas or Gainesville. Fairfax is expensive, but it can only as expensive as buyers are willing to pay.

The real world isn't like what you see on TV, Gomer. Many people traveling for business need a place to sleep at night and to shower and shave in the morning. That and a friendly, helpful front desk is all they want or are willing to pay for. A gym? A free continental breakfast? Don't make me laugh!

Look! I found the other thread that Spotter talked about and the asshole who uses about fifty different names gets tromped on by Spotter yet again. And again and again.

A boy stood on the railroad tracks
and didn't hear the bell.
I'd like to tell you the rest of the tale,
but it's too sad to tell.

Oh, stay away from the railroad tracks,
that is no place to play.
For trains go FAST, when they go PAST,
and you might be in the way!

Yeah, it just keeps getting worse and worse for the pathetic little FC dipshit. He's been so totally stomped on and humiliated now that he's down to all the usual five-year old dumbshit plays. Nothing new. It's the same end that all goober assfucks ultimately come to.

I think people only see those on fat-cat corporate expense accounts who fly business class, rent Lincoln Town Cars at the airport, and only stay in hotels having a 5-star restaurant and a full-time concierge. But only half of people work for businesses that can afford that sort of largesse. Travelers from the other half don't have expense accounts, they drive to other places in their own cars, they dine at Arby's and Tiger Mart, and they certainly do stay in low-cost, no-frills hotels. This is how the other half lives.

Ho, ho, ho out there. Just a quick holiday drive-by here. Need to head up north again tomorrow afternoon. Just wanted to say that the Christmas tarts were made and are quite wonderful. There's nothing like the real thing for Weihnachtsfest, as only we German Gourmet regulars would best be able to understand. Enjoy the holidays -- or gooberdays for most of you...

Try Flint, Michigan for a great low price

It's spelled "Wienerschnitzel", dummkopf, and all schnitzels are pounded flat as a pancake before breading and frying. You brand of "dumm" is hilarious, but still simply inexcusable.

Awww. Poor baby's feelings were hurt. Oh no's! All because someone pointed out what an incomparably ignorant asshole he is. What a heavy burden to have to bear.

Well, my date's not dressed yet for dinner. After all these years of practice, how can they take so long! Eventually, we'll be off for a festive holiday meal at one of the region's finest restaurants, but given the wait up front, it might be a good time to do some caroling. Come on, everybody...sing along...

Dum.....dum, dum
Dum.....dum, dum
Dum.....dum, dum
Dum.....dum, dum

Out in Merrifield
We pay lots for our meals
And leave a nice tip for that sweet Heather.
We don't need to fib
To seem like we're glib
We already got all our shit together, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Don't cry. But keep a sharp eye
You got to watch for teenage douchebags

Come on, take my hand. We'll travel east into douchebag-land
Put on your hat and prepare for great disorder.
There's holes in the ground.
And unintelligent sound.
Let's push right on through it
Before we get deported.

Teenage douchebags
Watch out for teenage douchebags,
Teenage douchebags, oh yeah
Teenage douchebags

They're all worthless!!!
