Yes. You can also do 3 mph over the speed limit and get ticketed. It just depends on the officer's goal for the day. I was in court once when an officer testified the reason he pulled over one particular driver in a line of cars was because his instructions were to ticket drivers going over 50 on that particular 35mph street.

This is what's wrong with Fairfax city. You can't even go 50 or more in 35 mph zones.

speeding at any speed in fairfax county can get you pulled over, but that will often be used as a means to check to see if you have warrents/ outstanding tickets or search your car or whatever (DUI,etc). However in fairfax county you will not get a ticket if you are going 1-10 miles over the speedlimit (IN FAIRFAX COUNTY/ IDK IF FFXCITY laws apply). however in a schoolzone.. speeding in a school zone at any speed may get you a ticket.

I've lived in Fairfax City for over 20 years and have never had a ticket
of any kind. Also, none from any other jurisdiction either. It's really easy
if you just obey the speed limit and be careful where you park. Staying
awake and not yakking on a cell phone or texting also helps. BTW, the
most important part is not to get behind the wheel if you've been drinking.
If you look at the Fairfax City Police reports, more than half the arrests
are alcohol related. If you don't walk around in public shitfaced you won't
have any problems there either.

I was stopped in Fairfax City once for expired tags. I'm supportive of law enforcement, but this officer was a complete Nazi. Thought he was going to arrest me and haul me off to jail. I don't know if this guy was just a jerk or if they train them that way in Fairfax City.

No one has answered the original question. It's more likely to happen the lower the speed limit.

10 mph on the Toll Road, not a big deal. 10 mph in a residential area or school zone, then license and registration please. Saturation also has much to do with it. If you live anywhere near a police station, expect more police presence.

Regularly drive 10 over (but not more). Never gotten a ticket.

I do have one ticket because I was going 42 in a 25. Genuinely thought it was a 35 zone, but was mistaken.

Absolutely in Vienna. The Barney Fife team will probably lock you up for that.

Was driving next to a big rig, when it came slowly into my lane. I hit the brakes & honked at him, barely getting behind him so I wasn't squished to death. I got into the lane he had vacated & at the next stoplight, gave him a shout-down. He was on a cell phone & didn't even know what he had just down. A passenger in another vehicle had seen what he had done, & was balling him out too.

You're the same guy who got the reckless driving ticket and complained about the outrageous violation of your 'rights'. So in this case you repeatedly hit a divider, you failed a breathalyzer test, and the cop was concerned enough about your sobriety that he drove you home - but he's just another incompetent cop making up bullshit.

Translation: Florida courts gave your behavior a pass, but Fairfax courts are holding you accountable for your actions. Ergo, Fairfax judges are corrupt.

You're almost undoubtedly a guy in your 20s who thinks he's invincible. You're not - and neither are the rest of us who are put in jeapordy by your outrageous behavior. YOU NEED TO GROW UP.
