FOLLOWING TOO CLOSE

Yes. It is referred to as 'Following To Close' in traffic law.
Very serious motor vehicle operator offense.
Borderline - RECKLESS DRIVING
WHY?
How many lame, jerk face excuses do they come up with to BREAK THE LAW?
ENDANGERING OTHER PEOPLE WITH THEIR IGNORANT IGNORANCE?

AND WHEN IS JOHNNY OR JANE LAW GOING TO START DOING SOMETHING EFFECTIVE TO GET IT STOPPED?

They will learn quickly if you drop a handful of ball bearings or marbles out behind your car.

Get out of the left lane on I-66 unless you're moving faster than the traffic to your right.

If someone is following to close, let off the gas pedal and coast down to EXACTLY the speed limit. If that doesn't work, punch your brakes to see if they work well, and also see how well they work for the douchebag following you.

You better have a strong rear bumper, or enjoy paying hundreds of dollars at the body shop.

Nope. A rear end collision is ALWAYS the fault of the person behind. When the police show up you are guaranteed to be 100% responsible for the accident. Your insurance company (given that you're insured) is liable and will pay, after which they'll bend you over and violently ass rape you at renewal time if they don't drag your sphincter into court before then. The person you hit will get full repairs, possibly a new car and will be covered for the likely damages to his back or neck, maybe even hundreds of thousands for pain, suffering, and loss of income. And you might even become uninsurable as no other insurance company will touch you for less than "fuck you rates".

Go ahead, ride my bumper on 66, dickweed!

Easier to pass on the right.

Poster,
Has never had a date, drives a Prius, has sex with his mother and kills kittens. Got beat up everyday in school because ...well you know, he is just a douche bag. I bet he rides a bike and wears spandex. He can sue when Jose's Dump truck full of gravel runs over his ass after he slams his brakes on in the left lane.

Well ok, apart from the A*sholes who try to speed down the right hand lane at 70, because they think it might be faster than the left hand 'fast lane' - even if you are indicating to return there

Or the regulars who use the painted shoulder lane as an autobahn when the lights are red and then veer back in to the lanes if they think they see a police car

Or the psychotic boy racer lane weavers who never learnt to use their turn signals or their common sense

There's a reason why 66 is always blocked with accidents!

At least 66 is better than the northern arc of the beltway up in MD where the apalling standard of driving would make any 3rd world nation look like Driving Miss Daisy

I've been married twice with plenty of girlfriends before and between. I drive a full size GM SUV and a BMW X5. My Mom died of cancer at age 34 when I was 10. We have two cats and two dogs. I was in one fight in HS - the kid who started it with me ended up in the hospital. The next day, his cousin threatened to kick my ass, after which he ended up in the hospital. It was a small town where shit like that happened, the police didn't make a big deal of it, and no one ever bothered me again. I occasionally ride a mountain bike with my 9 y.o. daughter at my side.

I'll sue your ass as you're driving your Mom's 1996 Honda with a fart pipe behind me. And yes, I slam on my brakes when pussies like you get too close. See ya' on 66, asswipe.

Now go clean that Slurpee machine, pussy-boy.

Well I have a 14 Suburban, and it is great for running little BMW fags off the road. I also keep a some gloves around so when I beat their effeminate little whiny asses up, I don't get their blood on me since 100% of Beemer drivers to suck dick. Admit you are a loser, why else would you fuck around in the left lane. I see you at the gym, You are always "lurking" in the mens room rather then doing any exercise. Now you go back to Walmart and clean the toilets before you get fired Pedro. I bet you live in Ashburn or some other place that harbors all the garbage that can't afford to live here. Spandex boy!

I see tons of fatty soccer moms driving Suburbans. What a bloated, overweight and underpowered American piece of garbage.

This is the correct answer. If you are speeding, regardless of any other rules that apply to the road, you lose your right of way. The person in front shouldn't be going slower than traffic in the far left lane, but they are within their legal right to do so, despite it being against best practice.

An for the love of god, eliminate left exits on highways, and left turns generally (on busy roads) as has been done throughout NJ. All that money spent on the 495 hotlanes project, and the exit for 267 is STILL on the left. The single stupidest road design FAIL of all time.

Yes, it's so true. NJ Jughandles make the left lane a regular travel lane. Out of staters say it's stupid but it really works.
