Sodomy is illegal in Virginia and if you do an Arrest/Ticket Search on it, you will find many cases. My question is, how is someone caught in the act of sodomy and then charged with it? (Ruling out the Rape and Forcible cases)

Sodomy is anal or oral in VA (by law, not by dictionary definition), in case that helps you conceptualize the possible scenarios.

If you rape someone (e.g., oral sex with a minor), they'll throw a lot of charges at you. Also, I'll bet some rape charges are haggled down to sodomy.

It's also illegal for the races to mix in marriage in Virginia. It's....oh, wait, that is my 1967 copy of the Code of Virginia. I guess it's legal now.

If you force somebody orally or anally, it's charged under sodomy because rape is only considered forced vaginal sex.

Since this was a supreme court case it effectively struck it down in all states. In the VA supreme court Martin_v._Ziherl referenced this ruling removing criminal penalties for fornication.

Oh and they caught the guys in Texas because a neighbor called in a robbery to their place when he knew they were fudge packing, so the cops caught them in the act.

It's my understanding that anything aside from good ol' missionary is illegal in VA. I think the charge is 'crimes against nature' or some bs like that.

Virginia used to and might still have a "crimes against nature" law. I thought it sounded like maybe you had burned downed a forest or beat up Hooty the Owl, but it's actually just a "one size fits all" that covers banging beasts, butts or pieholes.

let me get this straight... which of the following non-missionary sex acts,
performed between two consenting adults in the privacy of their home are
technically still illegal in VA?

(1) oral sex (male on female)
(2) oral sex (female on male)
(3) anal sex
(4) handjob
(5) male using a masturbator sleeve
(6) female using a dildo(or fruits/veggies)
(7) male humping a blow-up doll
(8) female humping a manual-transmission stick shifter
(9) female-on-female sex(any style)
(10) male-on-male sex(any style)

Anything except straight vaginal intercourse between a married man and his wife is against the VA Code.

UNMARRIED adults is also ILLEGAL in VA?

VA still has a lot of relics on the books. We used to have blue laws until maybe 1990.

I understand laws against adultry because it can be used in divorce cases. Co-habitation and premarital fornication laws are stupid, but not enforced.

I believe I did say that, yes. Illegal is not the same as enforceable or constutional.
