Is Lake Anna a good place to camp?

Want to take the family down there for camping. Anybody been?

Yeah love it, even the local cop is great. He chased me down in his car flashing his lights while i had "red cup" in hand, and was like, hey dude, accidentally charged your card twice.

I remember the sweats lol

but really cool place, so is Bear Creek

Yeah the state campground is fairly new and the bath houses are nice and clean. If you want to drink a few beers be sure to pour them in an insulated mug. Alcohol is not allowed in the park but one look in the dumpster tells the true story. A park employee said it best when he told me "Be discreet and don't bother anyone else and you can drink all you want. Get loud and sloppy then we have to call the cops." The loud drunks are at the nearby private campgrounds. The state campground is best for families with young kids, I have taken my kids there twice and they had a blast riding their bikes and swimming. Good strong 30 amp plugs at the campsites too! The county deputies ride through the campground once or twice a day just to make sure no one is being a dick.

no at Lake Anna there is a cop that lives on site, and not a park ranger a park cop.

Check out Christopher Run Campground.

I camped at Christopher Run last year. There are some fine looking hookers working that campground after dark. If you cant wait until night, they can hook you up at Tims.
