Can you murder someone and get away with it ?

Sure.

Is it still illegal?

Yes.

Slow the fuck down in our neighborhood.

You can until a cop catches you. Then you will get a ticket.

I do 80 on the Beltway and 75 on I-66. People on here are a bunch of fucking hypocrites because they all do about 10 over the limit.

If I'm in a residential area I try to stay at 25. If I'm on a 35 mph+ zone I go 10 over. Been driving for 10 years and I've never had a speeding ticket. I have friends who have gotten tickets going 15 over though.

If you've got a license plate that has a badge and number on it and says State Police across the top.

I go about 5-7 over at most, unless I'm behind some fucking foreigner who goes 10 under...

Fairfax County PD spells this out in their General Orders, stating in 501.3(H) that:

"Because conditions vary with each roadway and the primary purpose of radar/LIDAR is to cite the more flagrant violator, no motorist should, under normal circumstances, be cited for violations under 10 mph beyond the posted speed limit. Tolerance levels, over and under the minimum, may only be set by the station commander based on circumstances of a specific location."

If for some reason you are pulled over for less than 10 mph over the limit, this document won't help you a bit in court, though. And it only applies to Fairfax County, not the many other police forces in the area.
