It's that time of year when asshole union firefighters take taxpayer equipment out for joyrides and create traffic jams with their Fill the Boot scam! Half the money goes in their pockets and another 40% to the election campaigns of corrupt leftwing politicians. The leftovers go to a so-called charity that has never accomplished anything. Enjoy!

Until I get verification from the captain of the Fairfax County Fire Department that they aren't stealing from the money, then I'll never give a cent.
I have other ways to give to Muscular Dystrophy, other ways where the overpaid, underworked, government-tit-sucking firemen don't steal 50% for their "pancake fund."
Any fireman who collects money at the intersections knowing that the Department steals half of it should be locked up in jail along with Jesse Jackson Junior.

Fill the Boot is a gimmick. The money collected is for the personal use of each Fire House. The Chief at each fire house decides how much to keep for themselves. They usually give about 20% to the "Boot Fund" and keep the rest.

They don’t want to be out there .
The county politicians know that collecting for MDA makes them look good when they can say that their county collected the most money. None of that money goes to the fire department or any of the firefighters out there. When it was pointed out that panhandling is illegal suddenly the county decided to drop their panhandling law that’s why you see the increase in bums on every street corner begging for money.

You do know that the IAFF get a portion of that money right!? Sometimes in the millions of dollars. How unethical is that. Money collected panhandling by county employees for charity then goes the union officials. Crooked

Yeah, MDA has been getting hundreds of millions in donations for decades but they haven't found a cure. They probably don't want to find a cure because they would lose all that money.

Found this a short while ago.
FXCO FF raised $456,000. How much of the total money collected is actually donated to MDA? if there are 2000 members of the fire dept union and each donated $20 a month for a payroll deduction they would have raised $480,000. Disappointed
to say the least.

You know what is ironic. The firefighters go out and collect for 4 days. Do you know how many of the firefighters put a few dollars in the boot that weekend? I've been in for 10 years and not a single FF told me they ever put a cent in that fucking boot.
However the firefighters give money to the union which in turns GIVES politicians tens of thousands of dollars. You got that right- FF don't give to the boot but give their money to the Union which in turn pays the politicians. What a crooked scheme
