In his latest political ads, Dan Helmer claims he served in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as "conducted counter-terrorism operations" as a member of a Joint Special Operations Task Force.
According to an article in the Army Times, Helmer is a reserve intelligence officer who spent 11 years on active duty, with one deployment each in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Helmer graduated from West Point in 2003 and started out as an armor officer. He completed Armor Officer Basic in early 2004 and served with the 4th Infantry Division in Iraq in 2004 as an "assistant intelligence officer", whatever that is. He then earned a master’s degree at the University of Oxford on a Rhodes scholarship, deployed again with the 1st Infantry Division in Afghanistan in 2007 again as an "assistant intelligence officer", then spent three years on a cushy assignment in South Korea.
No mention whatsoever of an assignment with a Joint Special Operations Task Force. Also, "assistant intelligence officers" don't CONDUCT counter-terrorism operations. They may support them, but they don't CONDUCT them.
He trained as an Armor officer, but him mommy got his a cushy job as an "assistant intel officer" on a FOB. Probably spent most of his time in the PX or the Green Bean.
Is this lying poser someone we want as a Delegate?

A horrible act to suppress Virginias rights in the Virginia General Assembly when he targeted the NRA range and attempted to get a bill he wrote passed that would have shut the range down with wording that was specific to this range in the bill IT FAILED ! BY His Own Democrats who knew he was going too far as an anti gun zealot
He used his political position to attack the rights of Virginians to keep and bear arms in a vicious manner with this bill that had nothing to do with public safety . It was a hate act!

It's all falling apart. Voted yesterday at the Gov Center. Stood around for a while talking to the guy handing out Republican voting guides. In the time I stood there 31 people took a Republican guide, only 3 took a Democrat.
