Us Fairfaxians don't affiliate with Hybla Valley trash. The anus of Fairfax, the whole area along route 1 is a shit hole. I hope they blow that whole stretch up.

The habit of viewing northern Virginia as not quite the same as the rest of Virginia started in the seventeenth century when the English king granted the territories north of the Rappahannock to certain individuals who had supported his father during the civil wars and him while he was in exile. These grants were eventually consolidated by the Fairfax family after whom Fairfax County is named. After the Revolution the distinction slowly faded, but it was revived in the 20th century as the growth of the Federal government impacted the demographics in NoVa.

The Northern part of Virginia has always been considered Northern Virginia.
The Southern part of Virginia has always been considered Southern Virginia.
The Eastern Part of Virginia has always been considered Eastern Virginia.
The Western part of Virginia has always been considered Western Virginia. (Not to be confused with West Virginia, which is another State altogether, although it used to be part of Virginia)

Hope this helps!
