Bat Removal Recommendations

Does anyone have a recommendation for a wildlife removal company that handles bat colonies in houses? About 15 bats decided to take up residence in my attic this summer and I need to get them out and then "bat proof" the house so they can't come back. Ever. I don't think I need an attic decontamination since there's very little guano in it. Nothing I can't clean myself with respirator and gloves. Most of it it outside it the gutter and on a few shingles. And yes, I've sealed the most obvious openings, but they're still getting up in there.

If there are companies to avoid, that'd be useful too.

Whatever you do, do not tip off the county or even risk telling neighbors. Ecoterrorist Libnazi bureaucrats believe that bats and other pests have more rights to your home than you do.

Wait till they go out at night and then seal the entrance.

When to evict

"Do this only when no dependent young are present—not during the time from May through August. Many states specifically prohibit excluding bats when they are raising young."

Fuck all that noise!

Remember bats sometimes carry rabies. A bat was in our house and my whole family had to take rabies shots. We were not bitten that we could tell. Bites are very small. Call your health dept .

You have to seal every. possible. entrance. Gaps as small as 3/8" wide. And, not all bats leave at the same time. They feed in 24-48 hour cycles, so you could have a few left over inside. Seal them in, they die, and then your attic smells.

I don't have a good recommendation but will state you should NOT use Midatlantic Wildlife Control.

those companies charge an arm and a leg, I recommend doing it yourself. just get up there with a broom, bug spray and a vacuum cleaner. they hate the smell of that spray and once you get that vacuum cleaner started that noise will scare the bejesus out of them, then just swat and chase them away with the broom. eventually they'll get the heck out, and bats are smart, they'll know not to come back to that ruckus.

The Joker Pest Service is great. Ask for Seline Kyle. She is the best.
