what kind of mold - some attack and cause permanent nervous damage

clorox water 50/50 is my guess, losts of ventillation, don't be inside a while

i hear concrete likes OH+, so neutralize the CL- later would be treating it nicely

----------------
i'd say try a stiff look at wikipedia about cleanup

and for mold "testing", foundation , cracks outer tarring water heads and structural - i'm not saying

-------------------
you can never get rid of all mold though - it's a matter of ammounts present and prevention

stop the leak; clean up what you can, safely; buy humidity gauge and keep humidity at 30-60% to prevent the mold from growing

Often water coming into basements is due to a Gutter Helmets. Search this site. There's been discussions and recommendations in the recent part.

Have you checked your gutters? Clean those puppies out or expect water finding its way into your home.

Find the cause of the leak and fix it. I got flooded this past week during the heavy rains - it was caused because one of my gutters had pulled 1/2 inch away from the roof. Had to fix the gutter, bail out the water, dry the basement with fans and dehumidifier immediately.

I also ran a high capacity air purifier. I have kept the fans, dehumidifier and air purifier going for 5 days keeping the air at 35-60% humidity. I also found a small crawl space below some stairs that had a dirt floor (we are fairly new to the house and this was hidden behind a service panel. Cleaned some fallen and stored insulation out, cleaned up some construction debris left and dried this out with the above mentioned formula.

My basement wall is still a POS but so long as I keep the gutters serviced I dont think Ill get more leaks...

PS I have gutter screens and in heavy rains even those screens allow water to run over them and off the edge of the gutters depositing a lot of H20 near the foundation.

Mold is mold. Some are more dangerous than others, but the remediation is th same for all types - remove the affected building materials, dry out the remaining, fix the water source and build back.

Too much bleach. 1 part bleach to 5 parts water is more than sufficient. But why are you adding moisture to something that's alreay wet? Remove the affected/damaged materials, lightly mist the wood studs, drywall, etc. with the bleach, scrub and dry out quickly

Damn right. Prevention is key.

Annnnnnd you can buy Shockwave on Amazon, which is the exact same fungicide the major mold companies apply to kill what's on the walls.
