Looking at a house near there. Looks great on paper. Anyone know this school? Anything we should know?

Thanks.

I know people who go there. They are quite happy with the school.

Someone killed his family in that house.

A Neighbor: thanks!

Sonny: different house. And I'm not superstitious about real estate.

Couple things -

Depending on how long you intend to stay, Floris feeds Rachel Carson for MS, then two different high schools, South Lakes (International Baccalaureate) and Westfield (Advanced Placement). Make sure you know which HS and that that's where you want your kids to go.

Floris is at the edge of both HS districts and Carson feeds a number of HSes so kids friendships can get broken up as they go off to HS.

Floris AAP/GT Center is officially McNair but most (all?) GT-eligible kids stay at Floris in their GT classes. When the GT classes were initially created, the kids all stayed together in those classes. I don't know whether that's still true.

Carson is one of the top GT Centers in the County.

The former Floris Principal let the local stay-at-home soccer Moms run the place. The current one is better about it.

The Floris area has a number of smaller HOAs. Some have more amenities and more cohesion than others.

Having Frying Pan Park is really nice.

The Silver Line at Whiele with easy bus access to it from the Herndon-Monroe Park and Ride may be useful with the line going to the Park and Ride in 2018 or so.

Have 2 children who went through Floris Elementary. Absolutely a great school all around -- including test scores too.

Carson feeds three high schools, South Lakes, Westfield and Oakton. The majority of Carson students now go to South Lakes which makes it the most popular choice among students because fewer friendships get broken up.

Igualmente? No puedo esperar.
