What are the best dock spots in the area fellow fishers?

I know about:

-Ft Belvoir
-Jones Point Alexandria has a small dock area
-that little area off eisenhower avenue to fish by cameron run
-Of course VA beach pier and Ocean View in the bay, but was hoping to find something a little closer......

Colonial Beach Va, Public pier about 150 feet long free but parking is hard to find free

Point Lookout Md State Park Pier about 300 feet in salt fishy water park fee

Sandy Point State Park Annapolis Md at Bay Bridge fish out off the rock jetty in salt fishy water 300 ft park entrance fee

Solomans Island Md public pier salty fishy water may be small parking fee

Westmoreland State Park Va, Lower Potomac River off Rt 3 Pier small park fee

North Beach Md pier fee on the Chesapeak Bay, Check first to see if the piers still there

The old Rt 50 bridge over the Choptank River at Cambridge Md. Those who are old like me will remember the ride to OC long ago over this low two lane bridge that was packed with anglers over the salty fishy Choptank river. the bridge was replaced by a new higher bridge but one long end was left as afishing pier I belive its named for Bill Burton the long time Baltimore Sun Outdoors fish reporter. free This and Pt lookout are probably the top two spots for saltwater fish and you do need a saltwater license and saltwater angler registration all over the C bay area today.

Bank fishing and pier "bulkhead" fishing (piers that dont stick out) are all over the place with a favorite spot in DC up the Potomac Fletchers Boat House.
the Belee Haven park on the river next to the Belle Haven Marina has been a good bank fishing spot for many years, not far from Jones Point, I knew a guy, he and his pals would fill a car trunk with catfish on a long Saturday there.

There are also many head boats all over the bay where you pay for a days fishing by the head about 37 dollars. Chesapeake Beach had one of the best there The Tom Hooker or the newer Hooker but I have not seen them lately.

Thank you everyone! *Gone Fishing*

While we're at it- a good spot to respool my line? I want to make sure it's done RIGHT on this nice new Abu Garcia I got yesterday for a steal.

I see Dawson's in Woodbridge but would Dicks do it or do I need to head down Cabela's or thereabouts?

Bass up!!

Second Thought.

This info also helps those who have never fished before, or are too shy to ask.

You don't know the answer unless you ask a pro, right? How did you learn? Not everyone has an "Uncle" to teach them. I see it as a public service! :)
