The fun part of getting a ticket in Fairfax is the 70 dollar processing fee. Your 30 buck ticket turns into 100. I guess the people who process the ticket payments make about 400 dollars an hour.

So, I suppose that logic applies even if the fine is $1,000?

$2,000?

$10,000?

$100,000?

Just don't do it, and you wont have to worry about paying a fine...

"That was easy" sure does set a high bar for expectations...

Using this formula, Virginia drivers pay a state average of $361.76 in total for a $152 speeding ticket.

the young stupid reporter is helping spread bullova facist lies

speeding tickets were $35-$50 for small cases, NOT $150, NOT $500

he's a liar promoting the legitimacy - as if one has to sit and take it - as IF it is already final and valid

it is not final. it is not valid. and i'm after them in court.

If you want to speed go to the race track.

There is a reason for that. The Judge has the authority to reduce or eliminate the fine, but the court costs are mandatory. The state will bet most of its money regardless of whether the judge orders the normal fine or not.

The money doesn't go to the actual people who process the ticket. It goes to the state or locality.

Very smart of you.

So, again, by that logic, you don't care what the fine might be?

You'd be good with a million dollar speeding ticket, since you're never going to speed?

Good on ya!

If you go the speed limit, other drivers blow past you and give you the finger. Eventually one will follow you home and road rage your ass.

If you have a clean driving record they will dismiss the charge every time provided that the ticket is not the result of a crash. I get a ticket every 2 or 3 years but have not had a conviction since 1995. Sometimes they make me attend online driving school and other times they just dismiss it. On two occasions the Cop did not appear in court so they dismissed it for that and I had no court costs to pay.
I kind of enjoy getting a ticket now. I have huge amounts of leave time built up so there is no problem getting time to go to court. Someday I hope to get convicted so I can experience the appeals process, I will follow it through to the bitter end.

She is another government employee that gets like 45 days off with pay a year and has 10 months of sick leave built up. She would not make it two months at a real job.
