The CDC is on this, so don't worry just yet. On the good side, ebola is kinda hard to mis-diagnose so if it manages to get here, everyone will know and they'll scramble the troops.

It is a pretty shit way to go.

There's up to a 21 day incubation period, so in that time a lot of people could get infected. Plus 50% - 90% of those infected, die.

I think there's a 100% chance of ebola coming here. Between the illegal immigrants being spread across the country who are not being screened, and now Obama going through with an African summit with leaders of the 3 main countries that have Ebola, it will be brought right here to DC. I think it's about 60% these days, with constant medical support of the infected. Hey, it used to be 90%, which is practically a death sentence. The student of a guy I know got ebola a while back and survived - apparently he prayed to die more than once before he got better. It's pretty much a nightmare.

That said, here you can still do more to save your life by not texting while driving. Keep some perspective.

Yes, there is a chance it will come to the US. Metropolitan areas like this area are more at risk.

'Shelter in place' is something to have in the back of your mind. Get some supplies now....don't panic but be ready, just in case, to stay home for awhile.

Ebola can be spread by salvia, nose droplets, sweat and other bodily functions. The incubation period can be up to two weeks before a person shows signs of flu like symptoms.

Hard to know. Natural immunity would keep you from getting it at all, even if you get exposed. I'm not sure there is an immunity from ebola, and I'm not sure if anyone knows. Thankfully it's a pretty rare virus.

Once you have it, I'd bet it's superior medical care. Might help to be a prime-age adult rather than a kid or an oldster, but pretty much all diseases reave heavily of the newly bred and the nearly-dead.
