Siding Repair

Does anyone know someone who does simple siding repairs? It seems siding companies only do the entire house siding. I just need a couple of broken pieces fixed. Any suggestions are appreciated!

The problem you are going to have in trying to "repair" your siding is if you can't salvage the old pieces and reuse them. You are then going to have to try to match your siding. So, if you all can't figure out what brand was used, and if it is not still in production, you are going to have a problem.

I went through this, and we used pieces from a section of wall that was behind some bushes to fill in the broken pieces, and used something "pretty close" in the donor section. You really couldn't tell the difference behind the shrubbery.

Good luck.

My advice to you. Buy some tall shrubbery. It'll also keep out the peeping Toms.

And not TOO expensive.

He's right about matching. Tough for the average person to match the texture, profile, and color. Siding repair is not too tough for the average DIYer. You can take a longer piece off and there is usually some identification of the manufacturer and specific product. Take it to one of the local siding supply places and let the counter guy tell you if he has some. Alside Supply Center in Lorton has a large inventory.

I pay people to fix the major stuff. I am just an old lady with a very lucky husband.
