Closest place from Fairfax County get good MD Pit Beef?

I'm in downtown Fairfax and heard about Maryland's pit beef sandwiches.

What are the closest pit beef stands to Fairfax? Should I head north? Or cross the Wilson Bridge and go towards southern MD?

not worth the trip, it's dried beef with a bunch of horseradish sauce. I thought the same thing, that I wanted to try one, but it was nothing special.

I think it's a Baltimore thing, I'm not sure if they have it in Southern MD.

BawlMor.

In Ocean City there Bull on the Beach and The Pit Beef Guy Boog Powel by Thrashers Fries on the Board walk, there not bad but Baltimore is the Pit Beef Capitol.Boog Is from there at Camden yards. Take a drive thru PG, Charles and St Marys and you will see signs for Bull Roasts here and there.

look up Baltimore Pit beef on Google or You Tube.

My neighbor is from there and he raved about a joint that had the pit beef and a crab cake on It . Ill take either by them selve

Around Here Roy Rogers makes a decent roast beef sandwich 5 bucks. Similure not the real thing but not bad.

Chap's in Baltimore is supposed to be the best, never been there, but their reputation might be worth the trip.

Maryland pit bbq and Baltimore pit beef are two entirely different things. Chaps is worth the trip and is easy to find. I 95, take the route 40 exit north of the tunnel and go back in towards the city. Chaps is a mile or so on the left. There are a half dozen or more bby places in Charles county that are interesting including Laplata and Randy's mentioned above. None of these are outstanding but several are very good.
