Which station has consistently low gas prices in NOVA?

Prices go up and down, sure...but what's a consistent go to station for low gas prices?

Any recommendations on the best website with real-time gas pricing info?

Liberty is one of the few to sell 100% gasoline, no ethanol. You get more miles per gallon. You gotta be a lib.

Libery is not ethanol free, its the same as all other stations. If you go out to the boonies, they do have some E0 stations.

I don't buy the "you get what you pay for" part, especially with liberty who has a pretty established name. It's all the same shit, the only difference is the additives.

Liberty is the cheapest brand name gas.

Hillwood mart in Falls Church is usually the cheapest, be sure to use cash, great service too!

I get the car wash at Exxon/Mobil, that knocks down the price to about $3.20 a gallon (out in Gainesville).

NoVA residents get screwed. Gas is so much cheaper in Manassas / Gainesville and further out. But if you must fill up in rip-off county, go to BJs or Costco and give ExxonMobil, BP, Sunoco, and Shell the finger.

I stand corrected. I have avoided Liberty since a coworker told me of engine problems after using their gas. I just did a search and found Liberty has a pretty good standing in the community. I didn't intend to mislead anyone.

You're generally not going to find such a substantial difference to make it worth the drive. For example if it's 10 cents less five miles away and you're filling up an 18 gallon tank you're only saving $1.80. And you're likely to burn nearly as much in gas getting their and back as you save. Not to mention the value of your time and the frustration of sitting in 10 miles of traffic and lights around here. I stopped playing that game a long time ago and have never looked back.

+1 for GasBuddy...great example of practical crowdsourcing.

Express Stop in Burke seems to consistently have the lowest price per gallon in central Fairfax, but that place is such a cluster that I avoid it all costs. For just a few cents more (typically $0.04-$0.08 per gallon) Costco in Fair Lakes is the next cheapest. The lines move quickly, even on a busy Saturday afternoon, and they have attendants who help to keep everything in order. Plus, I think that Costco does a good job sourcing quality product...they have too much at stake with their reputation to sell crappy gas.

I drive to Raleigh every other week and try to be close to E so that I can get gas south of Fredericksburg, but I am not going to drive to Woodbridge or Occoquan to save an extra five cents per gallon...less an a dollar for a full tank.
