I see no reason Trump should encourage infections of hundreds at Arlington cemetery. Lord knows Trump has infected everybody in Washington and the GOP.

I have participated in the wreath laying at Arlington Cemetary several times. Every time I did it I got an email telling me participants to use Metro to get to the ANC. This year due to the pandemic I will not be participating.

I thought that it wasn't the Department of the Army that ran the program but rather Wreaths Across America. The Army could prevent it from happening, but Trump saying it will go forward doesn't mean it will.

I don't doubt that Wreaths Across America will still be able to come up with an adequate number of wreaths. The problem will be with the volunteers. ANC has been actively hostile to the notion of suburban participants coming to ANC in their private cars. Either they make an exception this year, or the military may have to use its own personnel to lay the wreaths. This isn't an anti-Trump thing. It is simply ridiculous to be expecting volunteers to use Metro during the pandemic.

IT ISN'T ABOUT TRUMP. Anyone who wishes to honor the sacrifice of those who died or were badly wounded in the service of our country should be free to participate in placing wreaths at national cemeteries. And while we are talking qualifications, many of those in the national cemeteries didn't do much to deserve that honor, but decorating their graves is a way to honor those who did make sacrifices worthy of being there.

I doubt the Jews and Muslims who are buried there appreciate a christmas wreath
