Police charged a Manassas man with felony hit-and-run, maiming and drunken driving Sunday after his smashed his Dodge Challenger into a house at the corner of Bayberry and Liberia avenues.
The wreck happened about 5:15 a.m., and left the occupant of the house – who was sleeping at the time -- injured, city police said.
The car struck the lower level of the house, traveling almost through the other side.
Police said the Dodge’s driver, identified at Eberardo Castillo, 23, of the 7900 block of Community Drive, fled the scene.
Officers found him not far away on Lomond Drive suffering non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Castillo is held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail.
The resident of the house is expected to recover and the Red Cross is helping him with temporary housing.
