From Centreville to Hollywood

I'm 20 years old, just finished community college and my dream is to be a filmmaker in Hollywood. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone in California.

Does anyone know anyone from fairfax county that went to LA and is actually successful in entertainment?

I was thinking I could get in touch with that person/people in hopes that they would be willing to help a fellow Northern Virginian :)

I plan to move in Septmeber

Sure, I know lots of folks from here who made it in the "entertainment" business out there. You willing to take it in the pooper, or are a pitcher? Catchers make a lot more. I'll hook you up with the right folks, but you'll have to supply your own KY.

Awesome thanks so much!! Yes, I'm a catcher. I've been playing ball since I was 5... how did you know?? Anyway, could you please give me their names? I can just google them :)

I believe Jason Sudekis is from Fairfax, he's pretty successful out in Hollywood.

Some of my friends include David Grohl, Brian Baker, Tim Reynolds, I know the entertainment lawyer who managed Hanson and the DMB. He also managed the Jerry Garcia estate. I won't give you his name though.

Thank you all for your suggestions but I was wondering if you knew someone who wasn't a famous actor/musician. Celebs are too hard to get in contact with.

I'm talking about producers/directors/writers. Hell, people at TV networks/movie studios, production company people, lighting guys, make-up artists etc. Behind the scenes type people. Maybe "successful" was the wrong word to use. I meant people with at least a foot in the door.

I'm desperate to make my dreams a reality. I figured I'd start here :)

I knew this girl named Carrie Williams. I think she works for MTV (but she's in NY)

Also this girl named Rachel Cambon moved to LA years ago (like 2006) to pursue acting. She's a server now LOL

Lee Rittner is like a makeup artist

I know there are a couple of other centreville high school peeps in LA doing stuff but I can't think of their names

Rent a camera and make a movie with the help of your friends like the guys in Montgomery County did years ago. After you shop the story someone will pick it up and your 15 mins will be here and gone in no time!
