http://www.wusa9.com/story/news/local/prince-william-county/2014/07/16/prince-william-doctor-prescription-fraud/12734463/

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police in Prince William County have arrested a doctor who they say was writing prescriptions for pain killers without properly performing medical exams to recipients.

Samad Oraee, of 8305 Alvord Drive in McLean, is charged with two counts of prescription fraud, police say. The 53-year-old is a licensed physician at the Neurological Center of Northern Virginia located at 2050 Old Bridge Rd, #200 in Woodbridge.

Prince William County police say the arrest stemmed from the recent Dragon Slayer Operation, which targeted distributers of prescription pain medications and heroin and resulted in more than 60 arrests.

So he wrote prescriptions for painkillers for people in pain?

Why don't the Nanny Police, the Nanny Media, Nanny Social Workers, and the Pharmaceutical Companies launch "Operation Free Treatment for Prescription Drug Abusers" before arresting people in pain who are abusing prescription drugs?

This is called a Pill Mill and it is unethical and illegal practice. He will most probably lose his license to practice medicine.

The people who obtain the prescription pills often then sell them illegally.

Hold on, don't call it a pill mill just yet...unless you have some further knowledge than what has been presented in the media so far.

Is it possible that one of those people busted earlier maybe struck a deal with prosecutors, and it benefits them to spin up a story about this doctor in exchange for favorable treatment from prosecutors?

Of course, I don't know that to be the case, but again, one shouldn't convict this dr just yet.

Know that in the past few years, media frenzy and increased governmental scrutiny on these things has lead to aggressive pursuit, and it certainly has made life difficult for those who do have serious pain issues and this type of pain management is the only relief.

Innocent people are suffering, and that isn't right either.

Don't feed the frenzy just yet...be a good citizen.

If you go to the Facebook page of insidenova.com, you will see comments by former and current patients. It will give you a good idea of what appears to have gone on.

Please research the facts before you people insist on defending this man. My husband was a patient of this so-called doctor several years ago and I am so fortunate I woke up and found another doctor. Not only did this man over-medicate my husband, he wouldn't listen to any of my complaints, just kept adding more prescriptions......and you wonder why he lives in McLean. Maybe you should check into just how much doctors make when writing prescriptions. He literally turned my husband into a zombie...... "DEA has nothing better to do", hmmmm, I do believe this IS part of their job description.

They make what you pay them for an office visit to obtain the RX.

When they become known for being an easy mark to obtain narcotics, the word spreads, and people flock there. It is called a pill mill.

People are addicted to Viagra? Sure, a stiffy is nice, but there isn't a chemical dependence, turdbrain.

He was targeted becuase his practice specialized in pain management. They haven't disclosed whether his pracitce prescribes an abnormal amount of painkillers. If not, it's just a fishing expendition type of sting and he got caught because he cut corners.

The body's growing tolerance for a painkiller like Vycotine makes it difficult to people to get by on lower dosage.

Vicodin, Percocet, Oxycontin, etc. are all under the classification of controlled substances. There are very specific Federal and state guidelines that have to be followed on these or people can lose their licenses.

Viagra and Cialis, etc. require prescriptions, but they are not controlled substances per se.

The longer you are on narcotics, the more you can require. You develop a tolerance for them.

There are a lot of freaky looking medical doctors. He doesn't look any different than many of them. You put them in a white coat and there you are.

This is for those of you who are interested and willing to hear the REAL story. Those of you who like to troll around and talk smack based on baseless assumptions need not reply because I'm not here to argue.

Dr Oraee's practice was indeed raided by the Prince William County police. They had a warrant to search and take whatever they wanted, yet they found NOTHING. No rolled up cash, no pills, no illegal substances or firearms. They took a few laptops and his cell phone along with very few documents, all of which were returned the very next morning.

Dr Oraee is one of, if not the best, in his field. He is very strict about his prescription policies. He regularly calls in patients for pill counts and if they don't show up or fail by taking more than he directed he automatically discharges them. Patients are sometimes required to take drug tests, if the test shows that the patient has consumed any abusable drug other than what he himself prescribed for them they are discharged. He has signs in every exam room and waiting area of his practice describing these and other similar policies.

Dr Oraee takes serious pride in running his practice the right way, and the public's response to this news reflects those efforts. His entire office staff of eight employees are sticking by him. Would you keep your $14/hour receptionist job if you believed your boss was basically a drug dealer, possibly making you an accessory? Probably not, you'd go find another doctor to answer phones for. If you were the associate neurologist or nurse practitioner under him would you risk your license and career and continue working for him? Again, probably not. Use google to find the articles relevant to this situation and read the comments. Almost all of them are in support of him.

A week before the raid Dr Oraee had a meeting the the medical board about these same concerns of prescription fraud and was cleared. The PWC police knew that and decided to conduct the raid and arrest him anyway even though the governing body medical licensing board had already found no fault in his policies. The PWC police also tried to refer this case to the DEA and the DEA told them that Dr Oraee wasn't even on their radar and they had no interest in having a part in the case. Wouldn't you think that a doctor that was allegedly distributing mass amounts of narcotics would be an interest to someone higher than the local county police? This is a clear case of trying to turn an innocent man into a criminal because the police are too lazy to go after the actual dealers. Dr Oraee is embarrassed that this incident ever happened and he is totally confident that it won't even go to trial.

I am a former patient of the doctor to clarify this was a pill mill the first time I went there he prescribed me medication without seeing proof of injury. although I did have a valid issue and brought proof to the next visit he did not wait to see anything before prescribing medication. For many years he over prescribe medication to me when I would go in for my appointment there would be other patients they were clearly off of heroin literally falling out of the chairs because they could not remain stable this place was awful I am so glad I left there over a year ago I hope he goes to jail for a very long time he is not innocent. he never gave a shit about me or any of his patients all he is worried about is his income

I was a patient of his and never over prescribed to me. The first apt I had he started me on the lowest dose and worked me up to where I was comfortable but not completely out of pain right where I could do normal daily tasks! I had gone to him for almost 4 years and he had signs saying/would not prescribe oxycodone IR or hydromorphone IR! I was going to Him until after I found out about his arrest. I had been drug tested before randomly and have always passed. I don't do any other drugs or substance and only take what is prescribed how ever my last visit I had a drug screening and some how failed for THC and oxycodone. Have not
Taken oxycodone in 2 years and have not smoked in 7 years! The lady who gave me the test had on rubber gloves and still didnt want to touch the sample and had me place it on the counter where there was at least 10-15 samples on the counter. My insurance never covers them and I refuse to pay anything they charge me for! Anyone else have this issue?

I know a few people that go there. They are all drug addicts who will have all their pills gone in days or they sell them to buy herion. They have never got drug tested at all. From what I understand no one will fill his scripts around here anymore and the addict I know (a mother from school who actually just got her kids taken away) told me she has to go to some random pharmacy in Gainesville now bc the lady hasn't heard of Oraee. She doesn't even id the patients when they pick up their scripts from her. I was told all this and have no reason to believe it is not true. I am a chronic pain patient who goes to another clinic, everyone in my clinic looks professional, we have drug tests consistently bc of the nature of the medications.

"Innocent till proven guilty" is exactly right! The government actually has an agenda regarding pain meds. It is called money.

10% of pain med users become abusers and eventually start committing crimes, so the government decides that the 90% that really need pain pills really don't need them and they have practically been banned altogether thereby forcing the increased usage of the heroin that the CIA imports from the Afghan poppy fields which are guarded by US soldiers.

I know I'm just a whacky conspiracy theorist... yea...yea...yea...

Hint... I don't have much of an imagination, but somehow I conjure up some doozies when it comes to contradicting the world view all liberal indoctrinated zombies have. Wake up people... the US government is greedy, evil and unstoppable!

You don't need any drugs cooked up by the goverment pharmacy labs. Theose are for controlling your brain, not the pain. Just say no.

Try some good fresh kale and a nice glass of wheat grass juice and you'll be right as rain in no time.
